Life is hard enough as it is (and I've got it good!). The last thing I want to do is make it harder for someone who was born physically one gender and mentally another.
He wants to be addressed and treated like a dude, then address him like a dude. You don't have to worry about anything else unless you want to get in a bed with him, AND you have a shot of getting in bed with him.
