Exactly. People on here throw out names of players that literally have never done s**t and claim they are legit rotational players. I love the idea of getting G Hill back for Gordon, would do a lot for this team; don’t know much about Darius Miller, I’d rather someone slightly better so likely try a three team trade divvying up picks to get someone on top of Hill to make up for the scoring we may miss without EG.
Amen. You have Tucker, AG, Boogie, Wood around John Wall, James Harden and our stockade of developing wings, no excuses. I like our chances, and we are set up for the future too If it comes to that. RudyTBag signs off! @PattyTilman
@finsraider you should change thread title: AG is the "UPGRADE". With AG, 3rd PG is not urgent. Although I would still like to acquire Shaq Harrison or Zhaire Smith just in case. But it's his athleticism, versatility, length and DEFENSE that separates him from other options.
Aaron Gordon? Yes Otto Porter? No People really need to stop with the Otto Porter fascination. He’s been overrated on this board for years. If we were to trade EG + additional salary/assets for Porter, we’re mainly doing so to acquire his expiring contract. The team would be no better. This isn’t the get-over-the-hump type trade that some are alluding to in this thread. You trade for Porter if your goal is to rebuild and dump salary. Aaron Gordon is a lot different. His skill-set is much more dynamic, and unlike Porter, AG still has upside and could benefit from a change of scenery. Porter has already peaked as an Ariza on steroids. If we trade for Porter, we know it’s really all over.
I would love to find a way to get Derrick Rose on the team. With John Walls injury concerns having a solid backup point guard is really important.
He is NOT right, he is 36 years old.....you don't pay 36 year old role players a ton of money. He signed his last deal, he lives with it. DD
with Tucker not showing up today, my guess is he’s demanding an extension or trade. Probably why we’ve been shopping him. Ugh this is going to get ugly
Move on from him, Boogey and Woods are more versatile players anyway - Tucker should be a bench player at his age and ability - he can hit the corner 3 and play physical, but he is not good at much of anything else. DD
This is his last year of that deal, though. If we don't trade him during the year, he's a UFA after the season and someone will probably pay him more than he's worth. If he walks, we get nothing for him.
I would extend him. Trade him at deadline if absolutely necessary, that's when his value will be highest. PJ is the ultimate glue guy, he is this era's Shane Battier. Would hate to lose him.
