It’s not surprising. We have literally ****ed everything up with this virus from the Government not protecting us to everyday people continuing to act like it’s no big deal. Honestly for something to go wrong with the vaccine at this point will sadly just be par for the course.
It's horrific to think Trump and his followers could care less that Americans are dying now every 30 to 45 seconds of Covid, as they rally crowded & mask free, cheering on this horrible man.
So many people downplay this by saying this isn't as deadly as the Spanish Flu of 1918. During that pandemic about 650,000 Americans died from it. The pace we're on we could get to that number of casualties.
You can't even compare the two really. We have modern science now. People saw what happened in Italy before we had a problem here. They chose to ignore the fact that hospitals became overwhelmed, and thousands died there. It got here and Trump told them all it would disappear by spring. He touted the anti-science stance, and began his spreading of lies and propaganda. This is on him. He was the leader in the spread.
I just don't get all the sabotaging against fellow Americans by a portion of our own elected government officials. It didn't have to be this way.
They couldn't have set the bar any lower when it comes to stepping up and leading the country when they need you most. Months of doing the opposite of what they should have done to contain this virus and help stop the spread. Just despicable. Appointing Jared to the team last summer was just the tipping point after 3 months of incompetence, lies, and denial.
The US is going to be one of the last countries to stop this pandemic. If we don't get to around 70% vaccination rate we aren't going to have herd immunity.
That's what is so troubling. We have modern medicine yet our death rate isn't much off of what happened 100 years ago.
The city of Hudson, WI on the border with MN is planning on instituting a 10 PM bar shut down because there bars have been flooded with people coming from MN following the shutdown of in person dining and drinking two weeks ago.
Now you know Hunhh? Better hope ends soon. Seems like the people that are ignorant of this the last year are more prone to sickness. Losing voters every day that are capable of believing a man like Trump is good to lead an entire country.
Maybe herd immunity isn't so important if the vaccine, as claimed, prevent 100% of bad symptoms and 95% of mild symptoms. What's important then is that each person that want to prevent covid19 should go ahead with vaccination, possibly every year or so. Those that want to gamble, go ahead and gamble. I don't see a big issue with that and I think there would be some natural correction as we move forward. Covid19 may stay around forever, like the common cold.
