Sounds like a franchise player for Jack Easterby!

Iono, Vernon Maxwell is the Twitter GOAT so if we factor that in he might be the best Rocket of all time.

You cannot get upset with people who may not have witnessed the greatness of Hakeem.

It is just another chance to get to talk to someone about it.

It was a lot easier to win as 1 star back in Hakeems Era because superstars didn't all want to play together like now. When Rockets won against the Knicks they only had 1 star also.

Harden has had to face the greatest team of all time and lost. Somehow if it wasn't for some bad injury luck he would probably have a ring or two.

Please provide your guidelines so I can make a decision. Is it based on stats, championships, greatest at their position, pound for pound.

    Championships - Dream
    Stats - James
Best All Around - Debate between the two.
Who do I build my team around? - Dream

And maybe TMac might slide in there somewhere.

in the however many times I've met dream, his hands felt like sandpaper and completely swallowed my own little hands. not a pleasant hand shake. his voice also sound like he's been screaming at a concert the night before.

i imagine meeting mutombo is 10x worse in both aspects.

Seriously?! Like fan favorite cast? Or bench? Lol.... Go back and look at the 93-94 roster https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/HOU/1994.html

Hakeem is the only player in modern NBA history to win a chip without another star player. Don't get me wrong, the chemistry/players/Rudy T coaching - were important - Thorpe/Madmax/Jet/Horry/Sam/Elie and cast were good, but none of those guys were the HOF players Harden has had - Hakeem was a man on a mission and went through those teams with star duos / rosters.

So round 2 playoffs - barkley/kj duo - kj made all star 4x and other big accolades all team etc - this round - not even mentioning round 1 against Portland w/ Glide, KJ had more individual career accolades than all the players surrounding Hakeem that year COMBINED. I'm not even mentioning the rest of the players phx had. So 2 all star appearances total 1 x by Thorpe in 93? and 1 x by Sam like 05?

Round 3 - GD it - I hate the Jazz but those 2 floppers Malone/Stockton - as much as I hate even thinking about them - were Very good - I'm not going further than that with a compliment but their accolades demolish everything regarding roster/cast - Hakeem willed that team - I'm not forgetting the clutch shots or ******** on some of my favorite other players/rockets memories from that run but they were not the threat like a duo would have.

Knicks - forget them (this post is long) - all I need to say - Hakeem saved the title with that block on starks - anyone else making that leap is ****ing fouling Starks or letting him drain that 3.

Harden is already an all-time great - but look no further than 2018 for supporting cast/team - franchise record? Yes, 65 wins / MVP? yes / chip? no - Harden I don't blame - the hamstring from CP3 thing - travesty, but that team would have won in 2018 even after CP3 went down if Harden had what hakeem had in 94 (well maybe a Rudy T coach too?? Sure as hell not missing 27 threes as a team - and coach is going inside/mid). Yeah, the Warriors were historic greats but game 7... Winning and up at 1/2 - hakeem is out for blood - they might not win (yeah, I'm definitely biased for the Rockets) but it's not going to be 27 missed 3s either.

PS I do like harden - I'm not some silly fan that hates on him - dude is a legit all time great - I mean changing the game/work ethic (especially on moves). If you influence other players to emulate you - you're the man, and he deserves a title. Even if he doesn't get it - number retired in Houston. And Regardless of how it ends up - I've enjoyed the Harden Era as a life long Houston fan - I mean after hakeem - the team won 1 playoff series (one, hahah), but with Harden - we're making it somewhere in the playoffs - and always have a shot.

Wrong - read my post... The Era you're thinking about - pre 70s?? Lol, it was not easier to win with 1 star because Hakeem is it - not even Jordan won it like this.

Man, I'm just glad I got to see him play in his prime in person, but meeting him?? That's awesome. I've played poker with Thorpe and chatted some during a tournament, but it definitely would be great to meet Hakeem. I did get to meet Rudy though, I mean I know he won't remember talking but managing to get into a closed Rocket practice and meeting him was cool. Unfortunately it was the year hakeem played for the Raptors.... Thanks, Les!!!

I think Dream also solidified a era where the Rockets resembled the city of Houston. A hardworking, scrappy team of guys that didn't get alot of credit, weren't big city hollywood guys, but had something to prove. Somehow during the Daryl Morey/Harden era we lost that. Morey changed the identity of this team in a bad way

Dream is the GOAT Rocket. Harden is #2. Neither is debatable.

The Lakers, Pistons and C’s all had at least 3 all stars at a time sometimes more & the Bulls always had 2 or more.
