I have always thought Harden pairs up better with his 2nd star in the front court, not sharing the backcourt with him. Especially one that can handle the ball a little and can play the pick and roll. Wood fits the bill but im not sure he is quite ready for the STAR treatment yet.

Sign me up for Aaron Gordon.

It could work. 76ers may want an extension for Tucker if Thybulle is going out. Definitely like what Houston is getting in the deal.

I think what we know is that we need better talent AND depth. Perhaps the reason we haven’t looked for more depth at PG and center is those are generally easier spots to fill, so we might be looking at the buyout market to take care of them later in the season, after we’ve figured out what we have.

The only spot on the team that really bothers me is Tuckers backup. If Tucker goes down, we don’t have anything. Period. And the guy is getting up there in age. Could really use a Gary Clark like player...maybe Tate can be that.

I’ve thought maybe rather than having 2 alphas like we’ve tried with Dwight, CP3 and Westbrook, we might be better with a bunch of borderline all-stars to surround Harden with. That’s what Wall, Aaron Gordon and Wood could be.

Everyone agreed Wall was overpaid when he got the extension. He’s a $25-30 million player when healthy...not a max guy. Aaron Gordon isn’t a max guy, and neither is Wood. But they can all be borderline guys, and that might be enough if they fit with Harden.

Let me go ahead and spoil this for you all.

Rockets ain't going to get ****. Rockets are going to use pick(s) to dump Eric Gordon or Tucker to get under the tax.

Well I like the getting 2 players around 6’7”

Here are some notable defense FG% at less than 10 feet and greater than 15 feet. (19/20)

    https://www.nba.com/stats/players/defense-dash-lt10/

    > 15 feet DFG%
    Osman.......35.5%

    Andrew Wiggins.....40.4%
    Lillard......................39.7%
    Kemba Walker........39.7%
    Porzingis................40.3%
    Brandon Ingram......39.3%
    Paul George............39.3%
    Danny Green..........40.0%
    Fournier..................42.6%
    Kelly Oubre..............38.0%
    Bertans....................40.6%
    Blake Griffin............41.9%
    Thomas Bryant......over
    Valanciunas...........40%
    Drummond..............Centers
    Baynes....................or Bigs

    < 10 feet DFG%
    Osman.........62.1%

    Kawhi Leonard....62.3%
    Rui Hachimura....63.6%
    Heild....................65.2%
    Bjelica..................66.3%
    K-Love..................65.1%
    Rozier....................69.1%
    Ingles.....................64.0%
    DeRozan...............68.3%
    Steph Curry..........69.2%
    Johan Bolden........69.2%
    M Thybulle.............63.4%

So Centers will have poorer DFG% over 15 feet and guards should have poorer DFG% with < 10 feet.

Hard to have a decent DFG% when surrounded by Love, D Garland, Sexton, Drummond.

Paul Reed is very intriguing. He’s lively. Something we don’t currently have on this team. Has Montrez energy. Has some long azz arms!!

despite his many strengths he was a poor finisher in the paint/transition, not a good ballhandler, and got repeatedly torched by guards on the perimeter though

File this under the “Eric Gordon reestablishes his value and someone actually wants him” trade proposal:

    Houston In: Aaron Gordon
    GSW In: Eric Gordon
    Orlando In: Andrew Wiggins

Cousins is going to be load managed.

    And Wall might be too.

That would be the smart strategy.

Good luck with that... Cousins drops 30-15 in his sleep. Won’t be long before he makes a massive dent in the rotation. He chose the Rockets, and he mentioned C-Wood as an AD-Lite and All Defense, for this very reason. He is already eye-balling the starting 5 spot and GOOD LUCK keeping him away.

Wall is ready to roll, IMO.

Still holding out hope for Bruno.

Silas could see his potential and take special interest in developing him.

I would love the addition of Ingles. His passing skills would be beneficial for us.

It would be great if neither Cousins or Wall need to be load managed, I'm a Rocket fan first and foremost.

But coming back from leg injuries, especially Achilles, is tricky and history has shown us that if the team and the player are not patient and ramp up properly, the likelihood for re-injury is great.

In this instance, I do not want to be right.

George Hill is not a starter. You need to move EGo for a starter.

EGo is more valuable to Rockets than George Hill.

Hill's role is same as Austin Rivers.
