I don't think there will ever be a hot war between the US and PRC but confrontation is already happening.

The way to confront the PRC is multilaterally. The PRC likes to use soft power to gain influence so if we were smart that is the area to fight them also. Unfortunately the recent US skepticism on multilateralism including engaging in unnecessary trade and diplomatic conflicts with many other countries hasn't helped. As the US has retreated from global leadership and organizations means that the PRC has stepped in.

 

The US is being hollowed out by 40 years worth of corporate handjobs and dine and dash Republicans who tack on tax cuts and wars they don't bother to budget or pay.

Now we're at a bipolar state where we **** on the global institutions our predecessors built for our World Order, yet we want to pretend we can be Great Isolationists Again.

So every few years we want to tuck tail and other years we want to burn through billions of our steadily aging yet incredibly potent weaponry.

No wonder China don't want to fight. They half hopeful we continue stumbling and half fearful we'll take it as a Western and shoot first.

our politicians want us to stop focusing on

-Inequality if minorities
-Poor COVID decisions
-Improving Police situations
-Providing a healthcare that doesn’t make you broke
-improving our infrastructure to be like #1 nation
-continue to allow the 1% pay no taxes
-continue to allow big corporations to actually enjoy slave labor (China is not even the worst, India employees many child labor and don’t event talk about the rapes that happen)

- we can’t even fix homeless situation by being the wealthiest country in the world

But yeah let’s focus on a country that in 5000 years invaded........

Wake me up when our country actually does something for the citizens and improving our lives.

I am expecting a large scale effort by CNN to down play China's threat to the US because they want Americans to accept Biden bending over for them and not fighting in an on going cold war that started years ago.

 

When it comes to letting a virus slaughter it's people, put our doctors and nurses to the breaking point, and stir up distrust in our election system, and nobody does it better than Trump and the GOP.
