That's true. But I never treated SF3 that way, although I wasn't too happy about his past performances. I guess that what we do best, as so called Rockets fans, to single out players to blame after each loss or win, to divide fans into opposite groups, to attack each other. Sooner or later, the tension between "fans" can be spreaded to tension between players. Then, I guess we will be all happy, that the players we "support" share our views.
I agree somewhat, but if you don't run plays for Yao to post up instead the freakin' screens, then what do you expect... Again, he is only in his 2nd year and will dominate in the future, but it just sucks to see it happen now... Go Rox!!!
Yao needs to stop playing for china and rest in the offseason. Just don't go back. His parents are already here and I'm sure he can find another GF. Screw the Chinese Basketball team and stay here and rest, otherwise you'll continue to play like a worthless piece of crap.
Alot of you have huge expectations on Yao. Fine. But some of it is not realistic. He is the player he is. He doesn't yet show enough strength, mean-ness, and aggressive take over the game- playoff step it up a notch intensity for you. Fine. Sorry. He is in his second year. He is coming from the playgrounds of China (basketball hotbed) to face one of the most dominating NBA players of all time. He is learning adjusting, growing and trying. That is the truth, he is trying. He is trying to change, grow and improve. He has imporved over last year. Hopefully he will improve some more next year. He is the player he is. Get off Yao. He has not done all we want, but I do believe he is doing all he can. Unless we force the ball to him more and ask him to carry the team, he is not being expected by the team to do that. So there is no need to expect him to dominate or become a giant killer during this series. Hey it could happen next game. That would be great. But just getting his best right now is what we should all expect. Hopefully he will stay intense and he will learn to play like a warrior. He doesn't know how to get to that higher level right now. Maybe he will learn during this series? I remember that Drexler didn't get it the first time he faced Jordan in the finals. Drexler later said that he didnot realize how much was expected and how personal he should have made it with Jordan. Back off. Until he establishes himself consistantly as our go to franchise player don't expect that. He is the player he is.
Remember you are talking about the future of our Team! Such street language is uncalled for! 21 points and 11 rebounds for a second year Center is very respectable.
Who had 21 and 11 rebounds? He had 10 and 11 rbs for the first game and 21 and 4 rbs the second game. He needs to be consistent. Francis leads the team in scoring rebounds and assists. Almost averaging a triple double for the two games.
A 21 AND 11? LIKE SOMEONE ALEREADY SAID, ABOUT 8 POINTS OF THOSE CAME IN GARBAGE TIME AND HE ONLY HAD 4 BOARDS. MEANWHILE JJ HAD 19 AND 5 AND STEVE HAD A TRIPLE DOUBLE, EVEN BEFORE GARBAGE TIME. SO IF YOU'RE HAPPY WITH GARBAGE STATS FROM YOUR FUTURE, THEN YOU'RE GONNA BE VERY HAPPY FOR YEARS TO COME.
It is Yao's second season, but I sometimes wonder if he'll ever truly be an consistently intense player, the same way a lot of us wonder if Steve will ever "get it" (five years and counting). Of course, one never knows, but maybe Yao is just an incredibly gifted player who will never develop an aggressive streak. Like "b-ball IQ," it could be one of those intangible elements that you either have or you don't have, 2nd season or not.
Yao shyed away from responsiblity. I didnt like his weary look. He looked like stressed out, not enjoying the playoff at all. I just wish he could free himself, and play what he is best at. Quit floating around high post, trying to setting picks for teammates. He should be inside attacking Shaq! There was one thing working yesterday at least, everytime, he faded outwards, Shaq fouled him. Yao needs to be assertive. He should realize he has weapons to put Shaq in foul troubles. Yao needs to be a fighter!!!
all this talk about Shaq like he is still the player he was three or four years ago is ridiculous. the only reason that Shaq still puts up really good numbers is because of his competition. hell, joe klein could be a double double player in todays NBA...
i think the main point people are getting at is that Yao doesnt seem fired up or aggresive?!?! that he doesnt seem like he has heart or is trying harder? The critics said the same thing about Duncan too.. not everyone expresses themselves the same way, just because Yao doesnt scream and yell and pump his fists doesnt mean hes not fired up or trying hard. J
This is sooo funny. When Yao isn't playing well statistically he get people whining. Wait until he have a good game and everyone jump back on the bandwagon. Pathetic! Have you people saw the Spurs two guards Tony and Ginobli? Now, why can we have someone like them?
I feel bad after we lost to LA, but I have to reminde everyone what yao did how many times in reguler season: big first half small 2ed half?BIG FIRST HALF, SAD 2ED HALF? How many times, this is yao's mental problem and his teammates, hope yao can aggrassive all the way to the end and his teammates continue to get yao involved. Currently we run in 1 leg(our D) our another leg(our O) is very shorter then our left leg. JVG is still not make the team's O smooth. Maybe cuz our PF. Go Rox
Whether you like it or not, it is a fact that Yao was tired as hell. Even Shaq was exhausted in the second half of first game, you can imagine what condition Yao was in. And 48 hours after playing Shaq, Yao was never recovered. Lakers also played smart in 2nd half. They put Karla on Yao. Although he gives half foot to Yao, it didn't hurt much because Yao's jumpers are off and Karla is strong enough to push Yao outside. By putting Karla on Yao, they also avoided a mismatch. karla was injured and a bit slow, but nimble enough to guard Yao. I wonder why MoT couldn't beat Shaq on speed.
I'm not sure what you're trying to get at, but if Yao's putting up 13.2ppg and 7.9 rebounds a game on 48% shooting in his fifth season, I'm sure most people would be pissed and there will be those people that'll blame everyone else except Yao for those numbers. Somehow I don't see that happening to Yao, the dude flat out gets better every year. He's shown that throughout his basketball career in both leagues. If next year he regresses, I'd worry.
if that happens, feel free to bash Yao and those fans. Before that happens, i believe Yao will get better and better.
Everytime you post, you continue to show what a liar you are. You must think the rest of us are idiots if you thought we wouldn't notice how you conviniently combined Yao's points from the 2nd game and his rebounds from the first one. Is yao and emperor? Then why should he be treated as one? It has just now occured to me that you worship Yao like a god. Now you are accusing people of blasphemy if they say something bad about him. room4rentsf, nobody is saying Yao needs to ACT aggressive, we want him to BE aggressive.
