I did contract work for Microsoft some years back... they have a mountain bike store in their main building (cafeterias) on campus. I think at the time these tech companies were designing and building these mega campuses the idea was that workers spend so much time "in the office" that they need restaurants, stores, dry cleaning and even places to live. I worked in the Bellevue campus so taking a trip to Redmond was an experience.
The Redmond campus is freaking beautiful, but I couldn’t imagine having to plan in shuttle trips to my agenda to make various meetings. Sounds like college all over again. The Redmond campus does have an amazing set of dining options in the commons area (including a freaking MOD Pizza). Very jealous. And the fridges filled with free drinks all over campus are a nice touch, too. The Bellevue “campus” (in the Bravern) is in a great location. I love Bellevue.
I don't know where that rendering is supposed to be, but why would you build a manufacturing plant in the middle of town? Land costs, zoning issues and traffic mitigation would be expensive.
Will Houston turn into RoboCop's 1987 Detroit with an influx of illicit offerings to accommodate the HP employees? Now that is the question.
Well, Houston already hosted RoboCop 2, but the real question is: Spoiler Would you buy that for a dollar?
