Russ wanted out for his own selfish reasons and wasn’t even gonna report to camp...there was no pushing Russ out, he did that all on his own

He's still very much unproven to me. Sure woods can obviously shoot better than capela but now that he's no longer in detroit, can he playing winning basketball and actually contribute on a consistent basis. that's always a question going from bad teams. In a perfect world, we would have both though

One thing's for sure: We're going to have the least off-ball movement of any backcourt in the league.

    We'll see about this.

Last 2 years we were worst in the league at that as well, so if true, then no real change there. Maybe Silas actually coaches the team unlike D'Antoni, though, and installs a real offense. We'll see.

Achilles injuries have been happening for over 50 years in the NBA and basically nobody returns as good as a player as before. I really hope Wall and Cousins can adjust their game to be an effective players here but banking on 2 achilles is not the best plan. I would have demanded more for Westbrook, at the very least a few 2nd rounders.

Then you'd be his mom, too, so you could spank him about not signing that extension.

It's not important that Wall moves off-ball. It's important that when he's WIDE-OPEN he can hit his jump shot at decent clip (someone posted he was a 38ish percent catch-and-shoot shooter). Which is something Russell couldn't do even remotely.

Harden's style isn't ideal with a bunch a players trying to move around off-ball because it affects the spacing around him.

And next year he'll want a different player. We all know Wall and Harden are not getting us a ring its only a matter of time this thing will be blown up until then enjoy mediocrity

Wall’s catch and shoot numbers actually surprise me...I definitely expected them to be worse

    not really

not sure what’s so interesting about Harden preferring Wall over someone who demanded a trade and wasn’t gonna show up to training camp

So, do we blame Daryl for allowing James this much power of the organization?

Hopefully Rafa can say NO or at least explain why the team can and cannot do things James asks for.

Exactly. Is Harden supposed to prefer keeping his friend against his stated wishes? You know these two have discussed this situation since the season ended. They talked about the coaching search, about Morey leaving, about Stone and Silas coming on board, and about each other's desire to GTFO. Harden knows at this point he can't force an immediate trade for himself, but is okay helping Russ get out.

Not sure why Howard is always brought up as an example of "Harden can't coexist with other stars." Harden played with him for 3 years. They had some success. However, by the time Howard was let go, he was no longer a star player. The team was better when he was hurt, and Clint Capela outplayed him consistently. Harden didn't need to do anything, Howard played himself off the team.

Have no problem keeping Harden happy. Top 25 player to ever to play in the NBA and only chance that gives the Rockets a puncher's chance at beating the Lakers. All these trades have keep them competitive and yet still able to make moves in case Harden demands out. Anybody seeing this as a negative instead of being amazed by Stones work that has really put in dent in fixing alot that put Rockets in a bind for the foreseeable future is delusional.

Bruh Harden is one of the two people who pushed for the WB trade. What do you mean not sure how you are blaming Harden?

If this leak is true then it is definitely very damning for Harden. First Dwight, then CP3, then WB. If it's just 1 dude who has a problem with him then fine but now it's 3 guys all with different personalities and temperament including his own BFF. Newflash friends fight all the time, you are supposed to sit down and talk with each other once you both cool off, not trade the dude for somebody else. Harden didn't even give WB a whole year, and that's after the Rockets traded so many assets for him. Cp3 must be laughing his ass off in PHX right now and Lebron and KD knew they made a right decision snubbing Houston in free agency.

Just to debunk some of the common arguments I'm seeing here:

    1. WB wanted to be traded, didn't report to trading camp.
-Big Whoop. Rox are the ones who said prepare to be uncomfortable. Training camp is different from the season I highly doubt WB will not play and miss 40M this year. Even Jimmy Butler who wanted the F out of Minny and Philly showed up and tried his hardest in the playoffs for those teams. WB is a 9 yr vet he wouldn't have lasted this long if he was extremely unprofessional. And if he really wanted out he should realize the best way to get out of dodge is to play like a beast so teams will trade for him, preferably a contender.

    2. Harden only had a "preference", didn't say trade WB outright
-So what? It's like his "preference" for WB over Cp3. If it's just a preference how come Cp3 didn't come talk to Harden ever since the trade happened? It's just a preference right? LOL! Gimme a break man, learn to read between the lines. Just the fact that he gave this preference is already him consenting and thus wanting the trade. Rox are trying to get him to sign an extension whatever his preference is, that's whats gonna happen.

And to the Houston Rox I know you want Harden to sign that extension but you better have an ironclad promise from Harden before you pulled this trade. If you did this and Harden still opted out next year the joke's on you wtf.
