His death was one of those "took my breath away" moments followed by weeks of sadness. Their early stuff was my absolute favorite because of Layne's voice and lyrics. I didn't cry but came damn close.

Cobain and Cornell made me hurt and saddened. Layne's death was painful. I've enjoyed the newer stuff, but it doesn't hit home like Layne.

i havent listened to AIC in decades, but sap still holds up! i remember seeing them at lolapalloza out in pasadena in 93 or 94. we were tripping on acid and this jock dude behind us picked up a giant rock and says to his buddy "i could throw this f***er like a football". we immediately left.

sometimes you create a lyric in your head and its actually cooler than the real thing. but theres a line in the doobie brothers song 'taking it to the streets' where it sounds like michael mcdonald is singing "no more negroes" which i always thought was weird since there was a black dude in the band...but its actually "No more need for running".

I always wanted to photoshop myself into pictures with Tony Danza, put them in frames then 3M stick the frames to the walls of those restaurants with tons of knickknacks and see how long they stayed there.

I never got around to it, though.
