Conservatives call on Trump to declare Marital Law to Invalidate Election

Bizarre and dangerous decision by the Washington Times. Hope they got paid double for the space?

 

Getting paid to publish someone else's conservative authoritarian vomit is like the dream come true for them.

I also really wish we didn't have to hear about every single fart in the wind from crackpots like this.

 

Everything is projection with the Republican Neo Fascist Party. I can't tell you how many times I heard that Obama was going to declare Marital Law.

 

Because it's better than Civil War.

Anyone remember that if Biden loses, the left will call for Civil War? Projection 101.

 

Every other day but just like the other lies from the republican party.

 

How on earth can anyone support this party? It blows my mind.

 

INSANE!!! how can Trump and the GOP have any supporters left.

The party of law and order wants to suspend the constitution. Why not? they've already trampled all over it. Tearing down our democracy for their dear leader.

This is nothing short of a slow moving coup attempt.

 

I really agree we need to start ignoring stuff like this but this kinda needs attention.

Maybe I am overestimating the times reach.

 

I have been under marital law for over 6 years now. Some would dispute that this is better than civil war.

 

Really have to be a special kind of stupid to think this is going to happen...or to even want it. We certainly have a poster or 2 here who would fall in that category.

I would note the irony of a group called “We the People Convention” calling for the suspending the Constitution but I don’t think these people are capable of irony.

 

This claim about martial law is disputed!

I don't think it's really that easy to declare martial law. There's no "martial law" slider setting on the USA america control panel.

I mean I guess he could invoke the insurrection act, presuming he could find a general who would obey it and not resign..then what? They blockade the electoral college campus quad?

 

To scare up more support for their side.

This is not a popular idea.

 

Trump can't unilaterally declare martial law and have a national revote. The President could declare a national emergency but elections are run by states and the date of the election was set by an act of Congress. Trump would need Congress and the states to go along with him. That's not going to happen.

Also if Trump declares a national emergency over the election it's possible many of the military and DOJ will not go along with it.

 

Hell hath no fury like angry and threatened white people. Everyone thinks it is a joke... but angry white men can do some serious multi generational genocidal stuff.

 

Angry, greedy, and heartless is a deadly combo. The Herd Immunity idea of just letting the old and those with other health problems, as well as the unlucky die a little quicker is bad enough.
