Now that free agency is pretty much done and players are reporting to there teams and contracts are being signed.
The Rockets can start to see how the pieces they have accumulated fit together on the court.

Some dates to look at that when teams can start making deals is December 9th or 15th I believe.

We all know Russ and James have supposedly asked or a trade. IMO Russ yes, James No. I think James may have stated that if a trade was to come he wouldn’t mind Brooklyn, but did he demand it it? I don’t think so.

Anyway, one thing to watch for IMO and one reason I think the Rockets are taking there time about moving on from the Brodie and the Beard is the Giannis signing. If he doesn’t sign the extension with the Bucks could the Rockets front office be positioning themselves in such a way that they are a player for his services.

All these teams are trying to set themselves up for this NBA event now. The Heat I believed shot there load with the signing of Bam. AD is still waiting to sign his deal based off of Giannis’s decision. Of course if he signs all bets are off, the Rockets are back at square one.

BUT IF HE DOSEN’T look what we have to offer. You have Russ and Wood package to facilitate a sign and trade with the Bucks. At this point barring injury that is better than what the Lakers and Warriors and Heat could offer IMO.

    Would Giannis choose H-Town?
Would you still trade Russ this year knowing this could be out there in the future?
Would James buy into sticking around Houston and playing with Giannis and hopefully and healthy Boogie Cousins on a contender friendly contract.

All wishful thinking here but the Giannis signing is one to watch and will set the tone for the NBA trade season dealings and maybe even offseason.

Giannis is out the second he gets traded here. He's the type that cares about the personality of the owner and the culture of the organization.

Remember when we thought we were a realistic destination for Lebron?

    Giannis is not coming here.

Why will Giannis go to Houston when he can go to Lakers and be Lebron's heir apparent? He even feuded with Harden lol wtf.

Harden has a bigger chance going to Lakers than Giannis going to Houston.

I don’t think they signed Wood just to trade him away especially for Giannis who makes large money and doesn’t necessarily fit into Harden or the Rockets style of play.

Chess players think checker players are dumb, but I love playing checkers. Plus, the red ones are tasty.

While it might not be Giannis, Stone is most assuredly playing chess/hunting big game, and anything's possible.

I'm in total agreement that it"s a foregone conclusion that Russ EVENTUALLY gets dealt.
Before the offseason, the same could be said for EG.
I'd say there's a very good chance both are moved. But, Russ for sure. It might be after playing more value back in, but sooner or later, it's "happening".
That's a lot of salary/space/TE...and we're obviously not using those picks to "rebuild".
We have one of the greatest players in the history of the game, in his prime. We are definitely getting James help/reloading.

And, Tilman is looking to solidify/maximize his position coming out of the pandemic. He's weathered the storm and this is becoming an OPPORTUNITY for him.
So, those who've decried his "cheap" ways are in for a big surprise.

Rafa..is a stone cold silent assassin who has learned well at Daryl's side. But this guy has his own style. Different, but extremely capable. In some ways, better for us AT THIS POINT. (Daryl is still the Wizard, but his prodigy is really something) We are in good hands, people.
Be veeewwy veeewwy quiet, he is hunting bunnneeee waaaabbits.

Again, maybe not Giannis (who knows), but lots of possible options.

I like the way you're thinking playa.

    We are no longer "stuck".

Contrary to what some might think, it's an exciting time to be a Rockets fan.

OMT - Klay's injury has changed the equation a bit. We're going for it.

Giannis' decision and how long that extension goes or if there is any will determine the future of half the NBA.

Not just the Rockets, wherever he lands.

Yeah, I know, Giannis isn't even that good to hold half of the NBA hostage but it's reality.

    People love dunks and bulleyball.

Didn't want Lebron, don't want Giannis. We have our star.
