I'm excited about Brodric. Great wing defense and a pretty good shot.

Stone and the Pistons GM have been talking lots this summer and clearly have made deals under the table. Detroit wanted Westbrook but we weren’t willing to take Griffin off their hands. We wanted Jerami Grant but didn’t have the cap space for him. So Pistons signed him for us and will send him our way once he is eligible for trade in a package for Russ and their pick back. It all makes sense, no?
    Im bored

Unless they manage to move Westbrook there really won't be any backup PG minutes. You have either Westbrook or Harden running the point for basically the entire game

    Injuries happen.

Last season wasn't really that long ago. Austin Rivers played a ton of minutes.

Signing unknowns and praying one pans out is a piss poor plan.

Sign legit players is a better plan.

And putting any eggs in Clemons basket is epitome of desperation.

Even if you knowingly sign a worse backup PG to make him look better.

There's not a lot you can do when facing the hard cap and you are saddled with very expensive garbage like Westbrook and Gordon that you can't get rid of.

I only WISH that SOME of these players were actually experienced journeymen.

I don’t get it. Is Shaq Harrison just not interested?

Typically they go to contenders, not teams that have no real direction that could implode at any minute.

Till the situation with Harden and to a lesser extent with Westbrook is settled, why would anyone pick the Rockets over any of the top teams in the west?

    I just don’t get it.

Cant wait for the Lakers or Clippers to sign Harrison and get a rotation player for pennies. Fun stuff.

Murray pioneered volume 3s over quality 3s.

Stone doin his thing with volume signings over quality signings.

Funny thing about this is that I saw it coming based on NBA 2K roster updates last week lol. I brushed it off as a glitch!

I mean, I don't disagree with any of this, but I also don't see backup PG as a massive need right now. If Clemons or Grant gets the occasional 8-10 minutes a night, that's not going to make or break their season. Just like they have the last three seasons with Paul/Westbrook, I'd expect Silas to stagger Harden and Westbrook's minutes so one of them is on the floor at all times, with Gordon playing the role of secondary playmaker.

When you look at Rivers' role on this team the last few seasons, he's really not been making a ton of plays for others. He would occasionally attack the basket or take an unassisted jumper, but he averaged like 2.6 and 2.7 assists per 36 minutes in the regular season and playoffs, respectively, last year. And if Silas is implementing more ball movement, they might not need as many traditional ball handlers or playmakers.

So, would I have preferred Stone to sign a legitimate veteran backup PG to replace Rivers? Absolutely. But I kinda doubt it's the difference between them winning or losing a playoff series.
