For the team, I like the non-guaranteed contract and he fits the current system meaning the OLD system. Will be interesting to see if he can excel in the Silas system once we see what that actually will look like.
I’m super happy for Gerald Green and love having him on the team. But is it wrong to hope that one of the young guys clearly out plays him and earns the roster spot. We know his ceiling. I find myself hoping one of these new guys turns out to be better..
Good move Good locker room guy, cheerleader for the city. Always a quality 9th man, couldn’t ask for more from his role. He can transition to a 10th-11th man with his injuries, can always throw him into the rotation during an injury and he can perform
what a relief. i was worried that the rox are bringing down the team's average age. gg should balance it out again
Silas system isn’t that much different. According to everything reported he will still play 5 out iso/1 and 4 but he did say he will attack the zone traps earlier and have more movement to make scoring easier which I expect more off ball screens and cuts.
Yeah the move is a no brainer similar to Tyson Chandler. Green is a great teammate and locker room presence. He brings energy and enthusiasm. On the marketing and sales side he is a fan favorite. All for a low cost. Win win situation.
Even if he never sees the court, he will make us better with his intensity in practice. He is willing to die to make this team, ha. I pity the fool that has to go up against him. love me some Gerald
You, @rhino17 and @Dubious posted what I was going to. Huge presence in the locker room and on the bench, and hopefully he’ll be able to play, although maybe not right away. Have to wonder what kind of shape he’s in. While I don’t doubt that he’s been putting in the work, coming off of that injury and not playing has to take a toll, in my opinion. Thumbs up!
Greenlight should be a Rocket but I hope the Rockets young players are so good that Gerald remains at end of bench and is only in mop up duty to extend blowouts with his gunslinger mentality from 3 and high flying dunks.
