Yes, especially the last two seasons good things happen when he is playing. He does a number of things well.

If there weren’t any questions about him, he wouldn’t have been available for the Rockets and would be on a max contract elsewhere.

 

Rebounding should be improved with all the additions, not just Wood (or a healthy Cousins).

I guess my main thing is... he could parlay this deal with the Rockets into a max deal. If that isn't incentive enough to work on your game and ascend to greatness then idk what to say. He has all the tools to be a great player and he's perfect next to Harden. Whatever you saw from him in DET, multiply it x3. If there was a genetically engineered C to put next to Harden, it's AD or Wood.

Furthermore, Christian Wood is one of the highest risk/reward signings of this franchises history. He could be the player that sway's Harden to stay or leave. But I could also see Harden getting a ring then bolting like Lebron did in CLE.

In the first reports, it was stated to be Wood + Detroit's heavily protected 1st round pick for Ariza + 16th. Was this wrong?
