Nvm. Just want to say, that the dude's here who dont think we took a huge hit when we lost Morey are really being unfair. He was a huge part of our success and you shoulndt deny that.
Maybe I'm being ridiculous, but knowing what Westbrook has done in the past with lesser talent I believe he's one of only 4 or 5 players in the league that if traded to any NBA team not in the playoffs.. they're in the playoffs with Westbrook. Harden Westbrook Kevin Durant (not LeBron James because we've seen him miss out with scrubs) Donovan Mitchell Giannis Jimmy Butler Kawhi Leonard (maybe) Doncic (probably arrived there this season) (Definitely not Steph Curry after his amazing season last year LOL) That being said, I think Westbrook holds plenty of value around the league. Value that we'll never see because Stoner wants to sail the ship, not sink it.
i cant really tell if you are trolling or you are actually being serious haha, but Wb has no value around the league, thats why we cant really trade him. He is not one of the 4 or 5 players that can guarantee playoffs, if he was, half the league will really want him. He is good when he is healthy and plays in the system, but in okc the whole franchise was built for him to be happy. His center even allowed him to get rebounds so he can pad his stats on his way to an mvp season.
You're trolling. Westbrook has PLENTY of value. We're not trying to trade him, we're trying to build around he and Harden. Why else did we go out and trade our SF defensive specialist for a center who can shoot the three? That's right.. because Wood is the perfect compliment to Westbrook... one of the top 10 players in the league and one of the few players in the league where you're in the playoffs if you have him. Allowing your PG to rebound doesn't guarantee the playoffs and he took a bunch of scrubs to the playoffs. You're being obtuse. Why? I have no idea. In fact I have no idea who you are. You're no one around here. Sorry troll. Troll on elsewhere. Wake up dipsiht.. Westbrook has only missed the playoffs once and it was his rookie year. You not liking him isn't proof that he has no value.
Morey signed with Philly within a month...why should I care what he thinks anymore... Some of you guys are the ones who cry and cant get over their ex...lame
What is wrong with you people? Dwight Howard was not his HOF self when he was here. It was like one season at best and he would go no to be terrible the rest of the way through. Cp3 had one year of himself as a HOF and then.....well you saw what happend. Russel Westbrook.....lol, dude Im sorry, anyone who thinks Westbrook had a HOF level last season is really an idiot. Dude was so bad even the Hornets and Knicks dont want to give up assets for him. And trading for Westbrook was not Morey. So there.....there you go. That's like what 2 years of 2 HOF play? That's literally it.
Morey as soon as Tillman bought the team and it was obvious his time was about to be up. Before Tillman he had a completely different philosophy which was a good sign he was planning on leaving. However I do think the coaches not playing his draft picks was a frustration Morey had especially with Adelman and McHale. With MDA I think he just accepted it and that along with Tillman buying the team changed his approach. If you really want to see a GM’s philosophy, look at their transactions when they don’t have superstars. Morey obviously sees high value in picks and while they have more value in trades to get a star player, once you have that star having those picks to groom a Capela, or a Carl Landry, or a Kyle Lowry are invaluable to depth building.
Sixers aren’t winning a damn thing (deep bench or not)... Morey can wheel and deal all he wants. Ben and Embiid aren’t bringing you a chip.
BS. Morey believed in depth, but only at one position. He literally acquired like 5-6 small guards and no bigmen at one point. There was also a time he kept acquiring 6'6 PF's. He's NEVER believed in a balanced roster at every position. This was BEFORE Tilman. Stop pinning Morey's incompetence on TF
Morey used to be good at this. Got with MDA and must of figured no need to sign more than minimum players when he doesn't use more than 7 man rotation. I don't want to hear about 65 win season when we lost in the playoffs. lol Rockets better get their seeding done early or they won't even make the play in to get in the playoffs if not already seeding high enough. Coaches will definitely need to go beyond a 7man rotation. Real coaches, coach their players up....not ignore the rest of the roster outside of 7 guys.
Morey was ok. To say Rockets weren't Morey's personal experiment is a bit naïve. He's definitely better now than when he was here just from learning from all the mistakes he made as a Rocket. I could live without ever drafting or seeing a 6'6-6'9 PF-C.
I was huge Morey supporter despite his obvious flaws. His lack of eyeing talent without stats for example. He was good for us, not great. He doesn't like confrontation like MDA, that's why they ran when stuff got tough. Not the kind of people to be in a fox hole with. The whole Dwight/Melo/CP3 ordeal. How are you not able to manage these personalities? These players are fine everywhere else but playing with Harden. You release Melo after asking for a meeting? Just bad overall player management in search for that elusive star. He finally got him and couldn't manage the monster he created.
DING, DING, DING. Why keep DeAnthony Melton when you can throw him away to save money! You just gotta do it!
Morey was obsessed with having three star players. Something that never really happened. But, having so much money tied up in only a few players really makes it hard to have quality depth. I liked having Morey as our GM and I’m sorry he’s gone. But, I’ve never believed in the three star formula. Morey was all about trading for established stars. Not developing players to be stars. That’s a hard thing to do and still have quality depth.
