He’s not good on either end of the floor. And he’ll be 32 to start the season.

What do we feel about this? What does the FO feel about it? How should they feel?

I just don't know why I bother clicking on your threads.

    You are really obtuse.

EGo is an excellent defender, possibly Rockets BEST perimeter defender on a defense that was ranked NUMBER ONE in the playoffs.

He also was one of the people that actually showed up for the playoffs. (See: Opposite of Rivers)
Only knock on him, imo, is his injury history.

Are you using NBA2K ratings as your argument? Also, there is an existing EG thread.

I totally agree with you. His contract is not that bad if people would look at what some of these guys are signing for. And when Russ was out in the bubble and EGO was starting, he was playing the Russ role amazingly. He was blowing by everyone and getting to the hole and just not shooting 3's. I love him coming off the bench this year, if everyone stays.

If he's viewed as a negative asset because of the contract, they shouldn't trade him in my opinion. There's no good reason for his shot to have abandoned him and the CP3 trade should be a warning to be cautious before selling low after a disappointing season.

I thought his defense was good last year. Not sure why his percentages are down so much.

No sense in selling low on EG. Besides, we need a third ball handler and he's the only guy on the team who fits the bill.

And if @LorneMalvo thinks it's a good idea to trade him, well...

EG is consistently disappointing in the regular season, usually due to some mid-season injury/flare up, but can't deny that he shows up in the playoffs. His defense has definitely won me over each year.

Keep EG unless you get a playoff ready starter, because that’s what EG is. He can be a starter on a contending level team.

I’ve been in the same boat with a love/hate relationship w/ Splash Gordon.

For me it’s simple, he hasn’t been in this good of shape for several years.

I’m hoping it was injury related, and he should be actually healthy going into this season (unlike last year), and if he shows up in shape (he still dropped a 50piece looking puffy), he will be amazing for us. His shot will come and go, but unless he’s traded for a sure-fire two way contributor, I think you hold him.

incorrect assessment. Please re watch his games last season. And slow down the tape if you need to. Pay attention to sliding of the feet and body position on perimeter D.

EG sucked last season...he was straight up garbage

he was also garbage in about half of the playoff games last year, but I guess that’s considered “showing up” these days

his BBIQ is on the level of Westbrook’s

Can he shoot the mid range? He has played exactly the way Morey wanted him to play either with dribble drive or 3. Would it kill him to take a mid range shot? Many times he seems to force 3s. Hopefully this team makes a paradigm shift and plays the post and mid range game more.

But then how would he get attention?
