I know it's been discussed somewhere, but I can't help but give credits to this Charlotte team. They are really exciting to watch. Are they for real? I don't know, but no matter what, they have exceeded all expectations. A 3-2 series does favor them now big time. Now looking at the West ... ahhh ... hopefully the Western Conference finals can give us some excitement after all. Blow-out after blow-out is just no fun at all. By the way, what fun is it for all the Eastern teams to fight for the NBA finals berth without a chance to win it all? ------------------ They couldn't stop him in the early 90s; now they can't stop him in the 21st century -- Bill Worell on Phoenix defense on Hakeem
They showed some grit tonight... HORRIBLE refs tonight yet Cha kicks Mil's butt... If the refs didn't suck, Cha wins by 15 or so... ------------------ "Awesome baby!" Dick Vitale
What amazes me most is they don't have a true super-star. Mashburn is the closest and until the last couple of years he has been a rather average player. I love the way they play. Guess they should be thankful they aren't in the West, where they would have had a hard time getting out of the1st round.
4chuckie, I'm going to have to diagree with you, amigo. I think CHAR would fare pretty well in the West, and if they make it to the Finals, would probably represent the greatest challenge to the Lakers or Spurs. Not to say that CHAR has a chance in the Finals, but they'll possibly be more competitive than say Philly or TOR. 1. Stable of solid, though underachieving, big men 2. Solid backcourt that controls tempo very well 3. Very good in the open court 4. Good team D 5. Definite go-to man who's been on a roll But I still say WC Champs in 5, regardless. ------------------
Live- I may have agreed with you until the playoffs started. Let me stress again that I love the way Charlotte plays. I love the teams who play as a team offensively and most teams don't do that anymore (too much one on one or P&R). But in these playoffs Shaq & Kobe have been awesome, as has Duncan and to a lesser extent D-Rob. I agree charlotte is a toughter matchup than Philly. If Iverson is having a bad game Philly will lose. They have no 2nd option. As for Milwaukee I love Ray Allen, he is a stud, but they depend too much on outside shooting. Toronto is kind of like Philly in that if VC is off they will lose. But I still think Charlotte would have a rough time in the first round dealing with LA, or SA and would have a hard ime with Dallas, Utah or Sacramento.
I hope Milwaukee goes and takes the ring. They're undefeated against the spurs and the lakers. I know the playoffs are different, but I still think they have a chance especially if the winners of the west overlook them. Also Sammy has won as many championships as shaq, duncan, kobe, and robinson. ------------------
