He still has his skill set. Boogie being a 3rd option out there getting 1/1 matchups will be a good thing for us. He can still be a bully around the paint. PnR with James should be productive with his shooting. With him and Wood around the paint now we should be something to be reckoned with. No more small ball getting beat on the boards all night. PJ can come off the bench like he needs to or move to SF and just be a floor spacing shooter in the corner. We FINALLY have guys around the basket that can create their own shots at a high level.
I think the main thing about this signing is he is a good compliment to Wood. Wood is clearly going to be the starting center but Cousins might be a better match up against some of the bigger meat wagon centers. I think Stone is doing a better job of understanding its about options a matchups, not just going all in on one style with no versatility.
Well it is entertainment. It has been an exciting few days. Plus some hope for the season. Much better than having the only excitement each year being the draft and hoping for a high draft choice.
Now it really seems that all these acquisitions are to convince Harden to stay if he really demanded a trade. I just hope the chemistry works between Boogie and Harden. Boogie is not known to be a team player considering Harden being so ball-dominant.
he won't be defending the perimeter, that's for sure. the handles for a center are impressive. the questions are if he can stay healthy, if he can stay locked in mentally, if his shooting/passing/dribbling and overcome his lateral quickness, if he can play smart defense even though he's slow like Marc Gasol, and if he has any lift in those legs to be a good rebounder. lots of questions, but for the minimum he just needs to hit on 2 of those questions. if he hits on 3 he's a steal at that price. more than that and we hit the jackpot and he moves the needle pushing us into title contention.
Guys, don't have high expectations. After the injuries he has had, I expect him to play maybe 10 to 15 mins as a backup. I hope Silas is getting a say in these signing so the players the Rockets are signing can fit his offense.
Why is our back up center trying to be a point guard? All we really need to see is rebounding / defense / outside shooting. After seeing the video I have concerns because it shows just how delusional he truly is. Do not want anything to do with him or his off court antics after seeing this.
You're not going to get this in just a practice video. He did well enough with AD. He has enough talent on offense, he can rebound. Getting fitter, and maintaining has game for 10-15 minutes a night is our hope. If he can block some shots around the rim, it will be enough. Nothing to lose here, by signing him.
Let him confirm fully recover before he plays. The team looks like Miami big 3 now. Harden>James Westbrooks <Dwade because no 3 Bosh = fully recover cousins We still need to upgrade small forward, if we still have Ariza, we can limit Leborn and P George.
If he knows his role and sticks to it, we will be more than successful. My concern is he will be trying to do way to much missing up our chemistry.
He looks very slow in that video. Did he lose all of his quickness or was slowly working back from his injuries ?
Such big frame…but so fascinated about showing up his pg-like footwork That's why hurting (damnit, just put the f*cking ball in the hoop, cut off those fancy moves) Anyway, he's in rockets jersey now, wish him DA best!
