It's unfortunate. You were going to vote for Joe but Kamala just snuck up on ya.

You usually do fall apart when someone replies to you with nuance. And then you project and call others stubborn.

And then called this place an echo chamber.

It's a debate forum. If you post something in here, it's likely to be challenged.

Although I do agree that a lot of conservative posters don't post here anymore. That's their decision in the end. Whether they grew tired of debating or whatever the case. I dunno. I don't mind the debate though or discussion but if you post things down here people are going to challenge them. I think that's the entire point of the forum.

So if the argument is that Democrats are going to pass some super radical stuff with a majority...what stuff and how are they going to pass it with basically two center right Democrats in their party? It's a fair question to ask.

This will be more about whether Stacy Abrams' new voters show up again, rather than the Trump cult.

My guess is they will not, but we'll see.

The result will be official by Jan 5th, unless somehow we are in a constitutional crisis.

I think both sides turnout are impacted with Trump gone. But then it is for control of the Senate. Coin flip.

Looking back at history as a judge - it is making Biden/Harris a one time term as top priority vs a fairly diverse coalition among the Dem. Obama couldn’t get a gov option in his signature accomplishment with a super majority.

You will need to call out specific agendas and debate each of them. There are already infighting and argument on why the House lost many seats this round among progressive and moderate wings of the Dem party. If Dem takes control of the Senate, this will continue. The agenda of course will shift left, but not automatically to the same level for every items and likely much more toward the moderate wing given Biden is in that wing.

There are still votes to count (ny) so not yet final. It should be in the 4-5% range.

The largest margin since the 80s is 8%. Biden has the 2nd largest of margin of victory over the last 20 years (in an ever increasingly polarize US public). He will get 80+m vote, largest ever. The last record was 69m by Obama. And that was made possible because of Trump, where a number of moderate turnout for Biden who otherwise might have voted Republican or not vote. Biden knows this and that his coalition is diverse. If he want to maintain a chance of enacting his policies, he would need to balance that line between being too progressive or too centric.

I said this before - make the argument to give Biden a 2 years window to enact his agenda and not the same old gridlock that can’t even pass simple common sense laws. If he goes too far to an extreme, he will lose the House in 2022. 4 years of gridlock or 2 years of progress with a check on risk?

I really don't have a good feel for this. I'm not sure just winning the Senate is enough to motivate a lot of Trump supporters and a lot of this depends on what Trump does. If Trump continues to be checked out like he has been especially if the Electoral college vote goes the way it should go. It's possible that many of his supporters will also just check out. If Trump does come out and campaign continuing to focus on that election was stolen and need to get back at the Democrats then he might get his supporters to show up.

Trump would do this for the betterment of the Republican Party? I just don't see that as a possibility. Trump is too self serving.

The bigger question is will they want to count all the votes or stop counting the votes?

the more republicans that come out publicly telling him to put on his big-boy depends, the more likely he is to screw the GOP in Georgia. It’s fascinating to watch and helps explains turtle’s ongoing silence.

Don't count the MAGAs out. The cranky billionaires that run the GOP will spend $500 million on TV ADs and right wing talk radio and megachurch preachers to convince their little guy followers that the brown hordes and godless socialists of the Democratic will end their glorious way of life that they had back in the 1950's and 1960's and hope to return to.

The Dems will spend hundreds of millions out, but with Trump craziness out of the picture will have to quickly develop some policy positions to excite their voters.

Hard to say who is hurt more with the Trump loss.
