I think if the Rocket guards take the ball strong to the basket. They have a chance good chance in winning the series. SF showed me the last game that GP and DF can't stay with SF going to the basket. ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK get the Lakers in foul trouble early!!!! Htownrocketfan
Good point...imo this is the reason that we have a shot at beating the Lakers. They simply have trouble with penetration from the guard spot. Another thing we need to exploit the Lakers on more effectivly is the pick and roll, becasue Shaq cannot or will not come out to guard it. In my mind more than Yao, Steve and Cuttino hold the keys for us winning this series, becasue the Lakers do not defend these things well at all.
I've seen SF attack, attack, attack all season yet he hasn't gotten anyone in foul trouble. Doubt that will change in the post season. Attack, attack, attack and then drive & dish works, though. Or make the layup. But don't expect any whistles.
But attacking the basket gives us a better chance at beating them is all I'm saying. Just because we don't get all the calls it beats the hell out of shooting jumpers with no penetration.
I felt that MoT vs. Hobbled Karla Malone/Medvedenkosaurus was our primary advantage. But I think that Stevie vs. GP/Fischer is another major advantage for the Rockets. This year GP actually seems old and Stevie didn't seem to have much trouble getting to the hoop against the guy. p.s. Anyone else find it odd that the NBA is airing GP on that commercial where he's talking to the NBA Championship trophy and stating he's taken a pay cut, etc. for the trophy. The only commercial I've seen like it is the one with GP and the Lakers. I wonder what team the NBA would love to have win this year?
The Rockets guards couldn't dribble without losing the ball. By having them "attack" Francis' 7 TOs turn into 10-15 TOs.
