So the Pistons got Isaiah Stewart, Dwayne Dedmon, Plumlee and Okafor. Something is fishy. please please PLEASE sign and trade Christian Wood with Dedmon. That would be incredible.
If the Rockets don’t sign Wood I’m done. Seriously done. This potential signing could make up for all that is wrong in the world.
I've got it on good accord that Christian Wood is going to sign with the team that offers the most money. Straight from a reputable source.
hate on him all you want. he had Wood first at the deadline last year and everyone reported on it later. @BraBra I'm rooting for you.
Grant would actually be a really good Roco replacement possibly even better. Those 2 are like neck and neck for best 3&D players
Detroit can't trade the 3 centers they just signed. I have a feeling they acquired Dedmon for a trade. It just makes no sense to trade for him and then put so much cap space into 3 other centers. Wood and Dedmon would give us size and SPACING. Both guys are criminally underrated and both would be great here. I'm really not trying to get my hopes up but that would just be incredible if they were both routed to Houston.
Does it even matter if they sign this guy? He isn’t nearly as good as Roco. We created an even bigger hole by trading away Roco to possibly bring this guy in
We could take on Dedmon’s salary in the Covington-Ariza trade, which hasn’t been executed yet. And then sign Wood with the NT MLE. Since Detroit only has early bird rights for Christian Wood, does that mean the most he can get in a SnT is ~$10 MM? If so, that’s barely more than the NT MLE
RoCo was the power forward in a small ball system. Ask yourself. Russ Harden House RoCo Tucker or Russ Harden House Tucker Wood it was time to go back to normal sized basketball. Wood is better than we could have hoped. In a vacuum. RoCo is the more valuable player. 2 years left on his deal, then he would be 32 and read to get paid 17+ or 4 years on Wood's deal. 5 years younger. That fits both better today and better in a rebuilding situation.
It's a different role than Roco. Now that we have Silas who came from Dallas, Wood is basically Porzingis. He's obviously not as good as Porizingis, don't get it twisted, he's like Diet Porzingis. He fills the same role.
I just see the team as slightly worse without Roco on the defensive end. The goal should have been to upgrade the team not move sideways.
