The last one has fallen off the face of the BBS, and I felt the need to counter all the Britney nipple talk with a discussion of actual music.

    Adem - Homesongs - Very good alt-folk/country.
American Analog Set - From Our Living Room to Yours - Yo La Tengo-esque drone pop. They're coming to town next Saturday, so I thought I'd check them out. I'm thinking I'm not going to the show.
Beulah - When Your Heartstrings Break - I love The Coast is Never Clear, and I finally got around to getting this one. Hasn't hit me like Coast does, yet.
Carissa's Wierd - Songs About Leaving - Gorgeous, sad chamber pop--about leaving. Mournful, but pretty.
Cat Power - You Are Free - I like her voice.
Explosions in the Sky - The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place - More post-rock instrumental angst, etc. Good.
Jets to Brazil - Orange Rhyming Dictionary - Punkish (read: Clash-like). Okay--not really my thing.
Modest Mouse - Good News for People Who Love Bad News - Pretty good, though nowhere near the previous one.
Modest Mouse - This is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About - Only got through it once (they make some long albums, whew). Sounded good enough; lots of instrumental passages.
Ms. John Soda - No P. or D. - Very cool Notwist side project, with great female vocals. The high points are up there with Neon Golden, an album every fan of modern indie pop should own.
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless - I finally cracked and picked it up. Haven't been able to get through it all. I don't like it.
Of Montreal - The Bedside Drama: A Petite Tragedy - I'm not sure what "twee" means exactly, but these guys are the definition of it.
Pernice Brothers - Yours, Mine, & Ours - What a singer. If light indie pop is your thing, this is your album. Everyone should download "Baby In Two"--chilling.
Red House Painters - Ocean Beach - Just finished hearing it entirely for the first time. Great voice, good guitar work. I'm sure I need to hear the lyrics to fully appreciate what's going on.
Spinvis - Spinvis - Some Dutch one-man band. Really cool laptop production. Very catchy. And it's in Dutch!
Stereolab - Emperor Tomato Ketchup - Haven't had a chance to really listen to it yet, but it's on the horizon.
Sufjan Stevens - Seven Swans - Every bit as good as Greetings from Michigan; sparser arrangements allow the songs to breath. Soft folk fans apply today.
The Books - Thought for Food - I've done my self a disservice by only having listened to this on speakers. Fantastic experimental combo of found sounds, guitar picking, and cello.
The Olivia Tremor Control - Death At Cubist Castle and Black Foliage - Excellent psychedelic pop--from the 90s. These guys really know their 60s stuff.
Tied & Tickled Trio - EA1 EA2 - Another Notwist side project (one of about a dozen). Electro/experimental jazz. Owning it makes you cool--listening to it isn't required.

Yes, I'm attempting to digest 20 albums at once. I have a problem.

An Mp3 CD with just about every song Maynard James Keenan has ever sung on, a little Nirvana mixed in for change of pace along with Chevelle, Silverchair, Pink Floyd, and one Trust Company song

The Small Faces - Ogden's Nut Gone Flake

Is currently knuckling soundwaves from iTunes. Of course, being one of my favorite albums, that happens quite often. In fact most of what I've been listening to lately is simply a rehashing of favorites, so to speak. With the likes of...

The Action - Rolled Gold and Action Packed

The Kinks - Schoolboys in Disgrace, Lola vs. Powerman and the Moneygoround, and Muswell Hillbillies

    The Pretty Things - Parachute

    T.Rex - Electric Warrior

Les Fleur De Lys - Reflections

    Tomorrow - Tomorrow

Sorry rudager, but I have been so tied up with work lately.:(

But I thought about doing one of these myself, so I am glad that you read my mind.:)

    In my car:

"The Clash (US Version)" - The Clash
"Singles Going Steady" - The Buzzcocks
"Operation Ivy (Energy)" - Operation Ivy
"Losing Streak" - Less Than Jake
    "Punk in Drublic" - NOFX
    "Misfits" - The Misfits
    "Dookie" - Green Day
    "Hoss" - Lagwagon

Around the house and at work:

"Eat to the Beat" - Blondie
    "Bryter Layter" - Nick Drake
"In Through the Out Door" - Led Zeppelin
    "Spiderland" - Slint
    "Kill the Moonlight" - Spoon
    "Rubber Soul" - The Beatles
"Peter Gabriel 1 - Car" - Peter Gabriel
    "Desire" - Bob Dylan
    "Animals" - Pink Floyd
    "The Wall" - Pink Floyd
    "Volume 4" - Black Sabbath

rudager - I'm sorry that you don't like "Loveless" yet. It will grow on you - trust me.;)

I'll have to get that new Modest Mouse CD someday as I finally started liking "The Moon and Antarctica" (not that I hated it before, just couldn't get into it). I have the Explosions in the Sky CD, "Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die..." and thought it was a pretty good post-rock CD. How does the one you are listening to it compare to that one?

I got Mogwai's "Young Team" recently and I was disappointed; I'll have to give it a couple more listens before I give up on them.

Seal - IV - Seal is great as usual.

Zero 7 - When it Falls - thanks to Mrs JB for this recommendation. Awesome hooks.

Jonatha Brooke - Back in the Circus - She has the best hooks and the coolest voice. This album has covers of Eye in the Sky and God Only Knows I could listen to 1000 times and not get bored.

Steadman - Revive - These guys ROCK! Another recommendation from the Mrs.

Incubus - A Crow Left of the Murder... - I just love this band because they are so damn odd. Great for musicianship, though I do truly love a couple of the songs on here just for songs.

Jane's Addiction - Strays - This album is the definition of how rock stars should sound. It is huge, rockin' and full of gigantic hooks. I am NOT a Jane's fan at all, but this record is just a monster.

Rush - Signals & Grace Under Pressure - Been re-discovering my bass playing roots a bit with this and some Atlantic R&B lately.

Niacin - self-titled - Billy Sheehan in a helluva funky-ass B3 organ band. Just hearing Dennis Chambers on drums is worth the CD alone.

Duran Duran - Rio - cheesy, yes, but the bass playing on it is freakin' ridiculous.

Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy - my favorite Zep CD.

Atlantic R&B - best of box - God bless Duck Dunn. Between him and James Jamerson (Motown), they basically invented R&B bass playing.

Been practicing more lately. Shows in my CD's. :D

The Wildhearts - "Riff after Riff"
The Get Up Kids - "Guilt Show"

I'm drawing a blank on anything else right now.

Hayseed Dixie - "A Hillbilly Tribute To Mountain Love"

Tag Team - I think they called it "Hoop There it is" (the one they made for the Rockets)

Shel Silverstein - "Freaking At The Freakers Ball"

Neko Case and Her Boyfriends - "Furnace Room Lullaby" & "Blacklisted"

    Dj Dangermouse - "Grey Album"

    Marilyn Manson - Holywood

I'm listening to a lot of old Prince: Controversy, For You, etc.

Also, Hellacopters, Sub Olso, Arab Strap

It's the same stuff I posted in the last cd player thread. I don't listen to music as mush as I used to.
