$4.6 million was to get the Pistons to take Ariza’s much larger contract. The Rockets can announce it was for a second rounder if they choose to, but everyone knows it was to take Ariza and not trade a contracted player to Houston.

So the Rockets really paid about a million dollars for Martin.

I hate to be the one person bringing some positivity, but Mason Jones going undrafted to us was a steal. He's at worst a solid rotational guy. The Kenyon Martin pick? There's a lot of upside there. The kid is only 19.

Yes Tilman blows, but I'm not going to sit around ******** on every single move just to do it.

    Well....

It's a good pickup? Jr. can absolutely walk on air...and only 19 he's probably still filling out for another couple years. If he plays like his pops I am very intrigued to see how much and how quickly he develops.

We always over hype our 2nd rounders, and they get waived a year later.

Sometimes we end up trading our starting center to bring them back only to dump them for salary the next offseason.

Kenyon Martin Jr is only 19 years old. The good thing is that if the Rockets tank and pick up some talent in the future this pick will line up in age to the core of our new team down the line.

Bill Worrell is going to love this. Can play drinking game for how often he'll bring up a current player's "daddy." Is Kenyon Martin the youngest former player to have a son in the NBA?

Is he more Dominique Wilkins or Andre Igoudala? Only time will tell. But he's a HoFer for sure.

I hope we actually develop young talent .

Morey never really did that. young talent was used as trade assets.
I guess Capela was the best developed player i remember.

This kid is very young so his upside is high.

Revisionist history. Circumstances now and in 2017-2019 are not the same. Tilmans history is not excused by current context.

That was more the coaching. Morey does take some blame for assembling the staff. But Adelman was pretty good at integrated young players and getting productive rotation minutes from by seasons end. The coaches since him have not had that strength.

Hope Stone and Silas would play our young guys and not just treat them like assets

What's funny is, while I was watching some of the clips that were posted on the first couple pages of this thread, noticed that KJ has the same facial expressions and snarkiness on his face after an intimidating rejection he's made or an amazing dunk he's put on some kid.

I could definitely see him bringing that fire that some of our stars and role players have lacked during crucial moments of different games. Russell is probably the most fiery we've ever had (even above CP3) but he's definitely not in the future plans of the team... it'll be nice to get some of that with the new blood we bring in, with whatever role they end up playing for us.
