SSG......I agree with several things you say over the season....but must disagree this time.

Rokkit said it best imo.....so Ill just say that I second what he said...

It is far too early to give up on the kid...he has enough talent to be good, and I for one am willing to give him some time to be consistently productive.

Just like I am willing to give SF time to adapt to VG and his new role.

    Its all about patience.

    Holy hell, people.

We just played toe-to-toe with arguably the most forbidding starting lineup in the history of the NBA, and had a chance to win--if Jim Jackson hits that shot at the buzzer does this thread even exist? Of course not.
But in order to stay negative, let me just say this--
    1. Trade Francis. He turned the ball over so often in the beginning of the game that we had no chance to win.
    2. Trade Mobley. His slapping Kobe's arm trying to knock the ball away on that one play was inexcusable. *******.
    3. Trade Jackson. If he had made that three at the buzzer, we'd be winning this series. But instead he missed it like a complete idiot.
    4. Trade Cato. Well, yeah, I'm down.
    5. Trade Ming. He fouled Shaq. Who cares if Shaq missed the free throw and it didn't make a difference? Who cares if he blocked shots and clogged the lane defensively all night? He fouled Shaq. His ass is history.
    6. Trade Mark Jackson. He's too damn old, and what's with that goatee? Either grow it out thicker or get the hell out of town.
    7. Trade Nachbar. He didn't shoot the ball much, but I bet if he had he would have missed them all. And besides, we can probably get a Garnett-caliber player for him. Who doesn't want BOKI NACHBAR?
    8. Get riddy of Gundy. If he can't take a lottery team to the championship in his first year, he's not the coach for us.

We can go on and on and complain about each little mistake that the team made, and yeah, we made some. But we went from a lottery team last year to a team that is playing basketball and sticking around with the best teams in the league. Houston showed a HELL of a lot of heart and composure in the game, especially at the more critical junctures of the game where we haven't characteristically done so in the past. I think we can actually play with the Lakers, and if our defense plays as well as it did last night, we can hang with these guys.
Enough b****ing...let's just all be Rockets fans.

I just don't understand what people are thinking. It wasn't anyone's fault, Shaq got lucky and caught the airball. There was no 3-pt play, because Shaq missed the FT. It was right decision to foul Shaq, because Shaq couldn't hit one in the 4th qtr. The only thing you may complain is Yao didn't foul hard enough, but Shaq caught the ball at shoulder level, leaving Yao little time to foul. It was a lucky play.

The only thing lucky about it was Shaq missing that ft.

A bit off subject, but did anyone else see that interview Shaq had with Ahmad Rashaad? They showed it just prior to one of the games today.

Shaq had only 20 against Yao, but 20 is only 1 pt off Shaq's season average & he had 16 rebounds. I don't know the number, but LA has won every game this year where he had 15+ boards.

    And wasn't Yao's foul on Shaq's dunk his 6th?

Blah, blah, blah. Time is running out. SF will be traded in the offseason and Yao will still be a Rox for years to come. If you dont like it, be a troll someplace else.

Yeah, Yao should have foul Shaq hard on that last play. However, if you look at the picture (AP), Shaq has better position while he already in the air and the ball almost down to the rim, and Yao hopelessly hang on to his other arm.

We should have more patience. You guys can't expect the Rockets to go from no playoff in 5 years to a championship all in one step.
IMHO, Yao is only playing timid when he's got tons of fouls and he's in danger of fouling out. If we have somebody that can take some fouls on Shaq, Yao probably would be more free to play aggressively.

Don't say Yao is heartless if he's not wearing his emotion on his sleeves, would you say Duncan heartless? Although game1's loss is quite hard to take, I am seeing this series being a long series with the Rockets just have as much chance to win as the fakers.

if Shaq makes a FT, he is lucky. There was little doubt last night that putting him on the line means getting the possesion without giving up points, especially late in the game.

There are always some "fans" jumping up and down claiming "*** is worthless ..." whenever either Yao or Steve made some mistakes. Looks we have to live with the scenario for a while.

Last night Rox had a decent game in Fakeers' home, I like their efforts and determination. :) Steve made some TOs, Yao was dominated by Shaq. But we still hang on with the so-called best team in this league, which means our players, including Steve and Yao, do have their contributions.

I used to believe Yao can dominate Shaq this season, now I think it's impossible. So what? According to the post starter's logic most big guys in NBA should be kicked out of NBA if they have been dunked on their faces by Shaq.

Yao is valuable to this team though he may not meet some expectations (including mine). If you think Yao is worthless and want to trade him at low price, you must be the biggest fool in the league. That's why you are not and would never be a GM for any NBA team.

Steve tried for three seasons without a decent Center. It indicates that the Guard Oriented Team isn't the most favourable direction to go.At least the ones in Management that matter see it that way.

Did you notice Shaq played 45minutes? that's 9 more than his regular season average.

Man, you just lost your credibility here. When was the last time anybody hold Shaq to 20 points in 45 minutes in a playoff game? Can you name me one?

Right there I stopped reading. I have a difficult time figuring out all that hatred in your post. It wasn't like your Chise led us deep into the playoffs before Yao got here. I, for one, am more than thrilled that we are back in the postseason again.

    Summer Song Giver,

Let's put it this way, it's easy for people to blame the lost on one or two play when emotion run high. Having seen the game yesterday, I truely believe that all players played with heart. But heart has nothing to do with victory when you don't play well as a team. As a center piece of this team, we all hope Yao could play better than last game and I think he will in the next few games. I myself think that he is in the process of being a great player because he has all the ingredients to do so. It's just a matter of time.
