It's an okay trade if we're talking about blowing up, but if they're going to waste a season with Harden and not tank, you might as well keep Covington.
It's bittersweet with El Jefe, and he knows that he deserves better from the league, let alone the Rockets. . Not holding my breath, and I know I shouldn't. He's the ultimate professional and is in great shape. Either way, the core was not with it.
right now they do. He wants to leave, and the Rockets aren't getting fair value for a top 5 player still in his prime. Bring in more stability in the locker room, pick up draft picks your were sorely lacking, all without too big of a drop off on the court. Those picks help free up some future trade options too. Attach a pick to Gordon or Tucker to improve the team more.
Ariza. Man what in the world is going to happen here? Is this era over or do the Rockets try to prolong this?
Both. Holding position. James still has leverage. And, while there is disrespect throughout, everyone knows what James has done for the team. Baby steps... But then again, Rob was sent out quickly. Don't forget Tuck in all of this. And Danuel. Those are dominoes as well, albeit smaller.
Ariza and one of these picks to OKC for Oubre before completing the trade? Ariza gets a buyout. Rockets pay him 5 million for three years. Seems like a good way to make up to him no?
Perk did mention look out for PJ to return to Phoenix to play with cp3/book. something to keep an eye on
Idk if Danuel is the best role model for the young guys. I wouldn't be surprised if he's packaged in a smaller deal. Hell, maybe he gets us another late 1st Rd pick.
He just generated a TPE for a future pick. It's actually not terrible. Portland couldn't provide this. It means we have a commitment for a FA. Grant, Wood, Ibaka that we will SNT into this Exception.
Why do you believe this means a fa signing and not anything more than cost cutting/savings for our broke owner?
Because if James Harden is here they are going to do every single thing possible to build around him. I'm almost certain we have a deal lined up with Christian Wood, who I personally would take over Robert Covington on this particular roster. If James Harden is not here. They don't need Ariza anyways so I'm fine with it either way. This draft sucks.
