    Washington basically has just this year to convince Bradley Beal that they can build a competitive team around him. Beal is on a 2+1 deal and while he has said the right things, you can’t risk making him unhappy.

    Beal needs another star around him to be competitive in the East. John Wall is coming off a very serious injury and showed little dedication (out of shape, party animal) even when he was healthy. And his contract is quite the anchor. You would have to attach assets to him to get rid of that deal.

    Westbrook, for all his warts, is 100% dedicated to basketball and brings a competitive fire that would be very welcome in Washington, a team with a losing culture. Even the current lowball deals for Westbrook involve a expiring deals and a late 1st / early 2nd or a middling prospect.

    Westbrook has more trade value than Wall and is more likely to make Washington competitive in 2021. That is worth something. Maybe not a high pick and Rui, but definitely more than a mid-1st imo.

    The only way I do this deal is Westbrook+EGo+#16 for Wall+Beal+#9. Anything less than that and it’s a big no.

    Yep as someone stated. It wouldn't surprise me if Stone saw this video and wanted to get James Harden's boys in town. Pj tucker, Ariza, Harden John wall and Drummond as the starting lineup? Ego off the bench. I think James knows deep down Westbrook didn't fit in Houston.

    No matter how you look at it, Westbrook is an upgrade on John Wall this upcoming season, and the next one too. If they're not completely in with a Wall + picks for Westbrook trade then that says a lot about how they feel about Wall. Someone who was deemed a locker room cancer, and coming off a serious injury, and the Wizards arent going to depart with John Wall over a few draft picks? It must mean either they 1) extremely undervalue Westbrook(like net-negative/worse than John Wall value) or 2) have full confidence in Wall returning as an impactful player or 3) Both. The answer is most likely #2.

    Or maybe Houston is asking for 3 first round picks. #9, 2021, and 202X. I think Washington does it for #9 and 2021 pick, but they may try to leverage less draft compensation.

    Unless the Wall trade nets the Rockets the 9th AND the 16th, then this is a shitty trade.

    Wall has an even worse contract than Westbrook for gawd's sake because he is playing on gimpy wheels that can come off at any time.

    And Stone better flip the 9th Aaron Gordon.
