I don’t see how this can be anything else but tanking.

He legit traded Cov at peak value, Tillman willing to buy picks (I'll believe it when I see it), and holding firm for right packages for our stars. Perfect so far.

I like it. I'm not sure it's for assets but with such little wiggle room, i think we'll try and find a role player with Harden and Russ in mind. We have to find size. We got some thicc girth, now it's time to add length and this is one of the few ways we can do that.

I think he has a groovy name, Hank. The first time he makes an amazing deal (assuming someday he does, we hope), what will we say to the team that’s the victim? “You’ve been Stoned!”

For example, say we get the 3rd pick in the draft, Terry Rozier, and Cody Zeller by “giving” the Hornets Russell Westbrook, Ben McLemore, the 16th pick in this draft, and the future lottery protected 1st round pick from Portland. Ferntits saves $6.2 million dollars (House instead of Ben also works). Result?

    “MJ, you’ve been Stoned!”

    One can always dream.

    Really????

    Clue: see Covington trade.
    If still not seeing clearly:
    1. Remove Rockets red glasses
    2. Carefully clean
    3. Replace glasses

If not owning suitable cleaning product, buy some from Tilman (Can we call him T$ yet?)

We gave up a shitton of picks to trade for Westbrick and now we’re looking to give up more just to unload the bum. As Shane Battier would say.... Super Duper!

tbh , to me this says more " we are trying to get assets for an upgrade "

either way , we are headed for a significant retooling at the very least. capela traded for roco , roco traded for picks. thats a major piece we need to replace if we still wanna try to compete this year

Celtics have 3 firsts, not enough roster spots to add all of them, and they're over the LT, so cash is probably helpful.

I'm guessing we can buy #30

Tilman: I'll spend money on draft picks IF it pushes us over the hump.

Translation: Not happening. Tilman is the the cheapest brokest ****er in the NBA.

I’m beginning to wonder If the target is Aaron Gordon.

    Eric Gordon
    Danuel House
    All these picks...

With the target being Aaron Gordon.

    Makes a lot of sense.

    1. Russell Westbrook
    2. James Harden
    3. Trevor Ariza
    4. Aaron Gordon
    5. 4/40 MLE
    ———————
    6. Tucker

That’s pretty damn scary potential. AG is young enough to be a part of the rebuild too should that happen.

I get your point but it can also be seen in a different manner. Why did we get Covington in the 1st place? To use him in the small ball lineup. If we are no longer going that route or if the coaching staff saw him as expendable because of fit into the game plan or otherwise then it would’ve behooved the front office to move him if good deal we’re to arise which it did. Yes, we could be rebuilding but I don’t see it as clearly evident because of this particular trade.

Doubt it man. Woulda found a way to keep Covington if Rox still competing. 3 starter caliber guys and a bunch of bench role players (pj old, ariza is done) ain’t gonna get it done.

Tanking is about throwing **** on the wall and see what sticks. More shots the better. Buy a pick. Rookie salary plus cost of the pick is less than the vet you trade for another pick.

Truth: Contending teams don’t “build through the draft” in the NBA....
