They're not getting it this year. Wasted year for HOU and wasted prime years for Harden and Westbrook.

So Tilman wishes he had a massive package? Sounds about right.

If this is how you treat your superstars, no free agent with talent is going to want to come here to Houston

Just ask Pop and the Spurs

They haven't mistreated them. Those checks cash. What star player has picked their trade destination with 2+ years on their contract. Run it back.

What if they get hurt? Now their value goes down the toilet even further.

Naw. If you let your star punk you with multiple years left on his deal good luck not having others try. And I’m as pro player empowerment as they come.

How we treat our superstars? Harden has had it made in Houston since he arrived and always got his way. I'm sure players know and dream of having a city fully at their back the way Houston has had Harden's back. He's been a king in this city. Were not bending over and delivering our star MVP to the Nets and setting ourselves back a decade for player perception, especially when we wont even be in position to sign an equal caliber player in the first place after such a disastrous trade. AD brought in a better haul than that **** Nets package and NO already have their rebuild core while we'll be trash for 5-6 years minimum in search of a star player to draft.
If a player can't understand any of this, then **** em. Same goes for Russ. Former MVP that we sacrificed our championship contender and our future for, only to just give him up when older CP3 just got back a really good return?

The article is right to mention Russ was playing like an MVP and completely dominating. Yall don't really believe he will ever play that bad again after corona virus and injury in an unusual once in a lifetime oddity of a season finish. We have 2 MVP's still at the end of their physical primes. That's extremely rare and has usually resulted in at least 1 ring when MVP's teamed up and off the top of my head, they usually didn't win the first year together. James and Russ didn't even get a full season together.

Work it out and run it back with roster moves suited to their talents and Silas's plans. Find some size that can stretch the floor like Ibaka.
If things don't get better, you hold out until you get the best return possible. Maybe Harden has the personality to mail it in, but Russ will not and as that article mentions, he will compete with all he's got no matter what which is enough to keep us afloat while James comes back around.

Its called cutting your losses and moving on. CLE bounced back. LAL bounced back. MIA bounced back. The Rockets will bounce back.

They have to cut their losses and move on from these two toxic players. The longer they try to salvage "a worthy return" out of this, the uglier the perception of the Rockets will be. The quicker they decide on pressing the reset button the better.

I would shoot for Simmons then build around him. And draft accordingly. Thats what I would do. Spread the ball around move on from Gordon, russ and Tucker all gotta go

Cutting your losses does not = get ripped off. They will move on when they get an offer worthy of moving on. Harden is a great player. Someone will trade fair value for him. Jrue Holliday just brought back 3 unprotected firsts.

A 15-1 start to the season cures all of this BS.

So you're ok with punting 2020/2021 and delaying the rebuild by a year while taking a long term hit on optics from players about the Rockets franchise.

In the current environment and looking at what the recent trades have netted the various teams, we should be getting a boatload of assets in any trade for Harden.

MIL picked up Jrue Holiday for 3 first rounders, George Hill and Bledsoe. That is a pretty good return for the Pels.
OKC got serviceable players (Oubre, Rubio) plus a future first rounder for CP3.
Rockets got Ariza and 2 first rounders for RoCo.

Would have to think any trade involving Harden would net you at the very least a player with superstar/All-Star potential, maybe a couple of good role players and a kings ransom of draft capital. Harden is many times better than the best player involved in any of the above trades and (at least in theory) should get a much better return than any of the above teams/trades.

We're talking about a perennial MVP candidate, one of the top 3 players in the league. Seriously the best package that is being offered (from the Nets) is a handful of role players and a couple of late first rounders? GTFO.
