It’s swapping two bad deals but atleast you might get a few picks out of.

Again, everyone forgetting how well Westbrook was playing prior to the shutdown (plus Covid, plus injuries). So, I'm not sure at all that Wall would be an upgrade.

taking on Wall’s contract may be the best way for us to get actual assets back in a Russ trade

it’s been clear that his value on the open market has been sh*t

we’ll see what Washington is offering in addition to Wall

Wall can try to rehab his value here and then we can pawn him off to some team later

Charlotte already told you you aren’t getting their top pick so then that moves you to PJ Washington and Graham which is also not very likely.

New York has been said a lot, but there hasn’t been any real projected offer and that’s because even they’re not dumb enough to give up legitimate assets.

If traded here, how soon can Wall be traded again? Before the deadline? Could we show case him in a tank job after a Harden trade and try and get ourselves a 2021 lottery pick + cap space for Wall on super high USG with us?

Relief about getting the number 1 ranked worse contract of the whole NBA and even a bottom tier lottery team can't wait to get rid of him and actually still recovering from a bad injury and did not play for such a long time?

    LOL

I bet that poster was trying to say that Wall was better because he plays smarter and doesn't play out of control like Westbrook. Broadie is a damn good player, but the way he plays just doesn't lead to winning basketball in the playoffs. Teams just form a wall in the paint and dare him to shoot and he is incredibly inefficient at it. HIs handles are questionable as well.

CP3 never had the layoff Wall has had. But maybe he can...don't know the deets on his recovery, or on how motivated he is to return to his previous level.

Aside from Durant, Harden, Paul George, Steven Adams, Oladipo.....

Hell even if you don't count Paul George, Adams, and Oladipo that gives you a grand total of 4 playoff wins over 3 playoff appearances.

Wall's team had 15 playoff wins in their 3 trips to the playoffs with an inferior supporting cast.

John Wall? Seriously? Why would we want to pay him $169 million bucks over the next 3 seasons? The last season is a player option. No chance he doesn't gobble it up. No thanks.

I'm only interested in Wall as a rebuilding piece and contract to flip for more assets.

I don't think he's better than Russ and off that injury he's likely lost a lot of athleticism.

But if we're trading Russ/Harden may as well, tanking doesn't matter here so you take Wall, maybe he plays well enough here that you can flip him for even more assets next year.

Basically, what OKC has done with CP3.

We have to weigh that against not getting assets , but getting back contracts that are expiring . At least tilman might find those offers more enticing

I remember when some of y'all liked the Westbrook trade because "he was more reliable and durable than Chris Paul

Now we're trading him for John Wall

    lmfao. Amazing

Westbrook for Wall, Hachimura, 2 1st Rounders.

If the Wizards are desperate to keep Beal, they need to start giving up a little more to get their man.

    Simple as that.
