For the first time in a long time, I woke up in the morning proud of our Rockets. I know a lot of us in this forum are dissapointed with the loss last night, but that was one heck of a game. Forget the stats and the early turnovers, when the game was on the line the Rockets went toe to toe with all of those future hall of famers and all of their playoff experience. It was awesome. All we needed was a a few inches on either end of the court. A few more inches on Kobe's shot and the ball ricohets off the rim to a Rocket, or a few more inches on JJ's shot and he buries the three for the win. I know we lost and we could complain about all the things we did wrong, but why? We are back in the playoffs, we held our own, and it looked as though the team may even be growing up. Heck they even drew up a real play to end the game. Maybe I am alone in this sentiment, but at least for now I could care less about who we can get in the off season. I am just proud of our Rockets.
i completely agree. they busted their asses on defence and rebounding. steve for all his turnovers ran into shaq fearlessly and took the hard foul, not to mention all the boards and tip ins. mobley went bruce bowen without the dirty tricks on kobe. im proud of the rockets.
There's a great saying about baseball being a game of inches and unfortunately for us so is basketball. Those issues seperate contenders from pretenders and they are the hardest ones to get. I'm proud of the Rockets for hanging tough but at the same time a contender will make up those precious inches when it matters.
me too! Steve's turnover mainly happened in the first halftime. I'm proud of him, especially his second half performance. and Cat!!!
I loved the defensive intensity, and felt a lot of the turnovers were due to nervousness. I wish they would have won the game but it was a fun game to watch. Still trying to figure out where MoT was going on Kobe's airball that Shaq stuffed. Watch the replay, Mo is fading to the other side of the court.....to do WHAT?????? If he stops, HE gets that rebound and the game is over. DD
Your right, i was still dissapointed this morning cause we lost this one right at the tip of our fingers. But the Rockets picked it up well, and im glad they helped Yao on Oneal. Lets hope the rockets pick it up and get atleast 1 win in L.A.
yeah i'm proud of the rockets too....even though they lost which sucked. they are still learning and for many of them this is their first time in the playoffs....they have a lot of learning to do. they want to win, they were nervous but they played very hard and their hearts out. what more can you ask?
Great thread. I was so pissed that we lost, but I saw proud of how the Rockets played in the 2nd half. Look at the 3rd quarter. We held LA to 9 points!
