Or maybe Harden didn’t like Paul. I felt Morey shouldn’t have traded for Chris from the jump even if James wanted him because what the Rockets gave up..Daryl could’ve got better players for Lou Williams and Pat Bev alone with the rest of the young assets they had. My opinion that was a good team maybe that just me

Comparing us to the Knicks is still a bad analogy.
Even the fanbase is completely different. the Knicks identity is ALWAYS NEW YORK CITY

    NOT THE OWNER
    NOT CHINA
    NOT A SINGLE PLAYER

They always show up to support their team because they love basketball and their city.
It's never about any one player.
Who was the best player in Knicks history? Patrick Ewing?
They love him more than these newbs love Olajuwon here, and Dream was significantly better than him.

that's a real possibility. the Cavs, suns, hawks, bulls, hornets, all want to shoot for the playoffs this year even though their timeline for that is off. owners are trying to salvage whatever profits they can, or avoid whatever losses they can.

tilman by his own doing will have taken a contending team to the bottom of the conference without owning 4 of their own picks in the next 6 drafts. so when we bottom out, there won't be a top pick to bring us back up. maybe '22 and '23. no help until '27 after that. and those 19 year olds won't be good until '27 anyway.

if he can't get a kings ransom for harden, we could be at the bottom of the conference for the next 7-10 seasons. that might be enough for him to sell.

the comparison to the Knicks is only with regards to being a toxic organization and a laughingstock and ends there...it doesn’t have anything to do with the fanbase or identity

This is a way different scenario than any of those eras or time. Anyone who isn't completely blinded by fandom can see this. When we lost Ralph, Hakeem was at that light at the end of the tunnel. When we lost Dream Steve Francis was our light at the end of the tunnel. So was yao and tmac after francis. Right now all I see is arguably one of the greatest offensive players in his prime about to be sent off for peanuts. This is Charlie Thomas telling Hakeem that we're going to trade him instead of trying to make it work a year before we won the championship. Tillman is not Charlie Thomas. He doesn't belong in the sports business. He can stay in hospitality where he can actually be a prick and barely anyone will say anything about it.

Oh and @tinman this is the arrogance that got Trump in trouble and now Tillman. It's 2020 and the times are changing. If the fans stop showing up and buying tickets to Rockets games it wouldn't surprise me if the Rockets get moved to Vegas or Atlantic City or Orange County. After all Tillman is just a businessman and business is just business to him.

Can you blame us if all the stars, coaches, and gms want to leave and tilman wants to keep being cheap and supporting trump?

I’m not thinking of that scenario
I’m thinking of Elon buying the Rockets and the city’s identity restored as the space city

Lots of us went through that era after Hakeem left and before we made the Playoffs again. You got to stick with your team through the hard times

No but 99ers will spend their money elsewhere! What Tillman is doing is destroying everything Rudy T and Hakeem built. I keep referencing the Clutch city documentary but Rudy T and Dream put Houston on the map. They made Houstonians want to wear Rockets gear! I don't want to go to a Rockets game and see a bunch of Brooklyn Nets Jerseys! That's not what Rudy T ruined his health for. It's 2020 and die hard Rockets fans are a dying breed because it has been so long since we've won. The people that got to celebrate in 93-95 are old and the youngins posting on this board probably only watched documentaries and highlights. Now we might possibly ruin that chance for another 10 years when we're a couple good players and few million above the Tax away? The luxury tax is a small price to pay for your city's pride and devotion to your franchise. If Elon Musk wants to buy the Rockets please do it now before Tillman makes the biggest mistake in Rockets history!

you are wrong. And I’d like to see you tell me to my face that I am a fake fan, my friend. I’m not just a 99er, I’m a 74er. And I am done with this team.

I know why you're done (Tilman is a truly despicable human) and while i'll still watch, I understand why you'd leave. Depending on what they do with Harden will dictate whether or not I spend any money on this team for the foreseeable future. Already called my season ticket guy and said if he goes to Brooklyn to spite Morey we are done.

2009-2012 was only three years. I'm wondering if Tillman will hold on to the Rockets that long at the rate he's going.

So does that mean you are not going to being on Clutchfans during the seasons?
Sorry to hear that the brotherhood is affected

I don’t care if they suck or if they are owned by El Chapo

    Houston Rockets basketball forever
I’m not going to watch ping pong if the Rockets are playing

I’m not quitting the bbs, I love it too much. I’ll also watch games once in a while. I’m just done rooting for them. In case it wasn’t obvious, I was joking about saying it to my face. :)

Maybe that's why Harden wants to go to New York, where he'll actually be appreciated. Instead of here, where half the fanbase literally HATES him.
