I expect it to be traded or some other team making the selection.

Too good to be there at 16. Some of the projected players in the mid to the lower lottery appear to be better than the top 3 prospects.

Im excited about us possibly making this pick. I see some players in that range with potential.

one of Poku, Smith, Maxey, Nesmith are my predictions.

hoping for Poku. he's the only guy with star potential in that range, however he also has higher bust potential than those other guys too. but we need to swing for the fences.

if he's off the board then go with one of the other guys I mentioned. if we can get a solid starter out of the pick that would be worth it too. maybe even have some trade value to pair with expiring picks of ariza/pj.

Lottery guy for sure. Boston at 14 would be awesome for him, I admit.

I agree, it's not like we're giving up 3 first round picks for the potential of the late Eddie Griffin. Mental health evaluation is just as important as physical health. It's sad, but I feel it's important to bring that up.

Not going to happen. Covington is the vastly more important and coveted player.

To me, Poku looks like an unrefined skinny and lesser Porzingis. Honestly not bad @ 16.

For those that want to read up on who Poku is, here's a pretty in-depth analysis. For those that don't like words, there's also short clips!

I could see that comp too. I think he has a little better handle and agility but similar.

He might have an Anthony Davis-like backstory. Probably played guard / handled the ball a lot before suddenly becoming a giant. That's why he's able to bring the ball up.

I would take either Ashton Hagans or Cole Anthony or Tyrese Maxey

    I'd be ecstatic to get:
SF I.Okoro - Extremely unlikely he slips out of the lotto, but I can dream

    Happy to get
    :
C/PF J.Smith - Unicorn big that fits with small-ball or any system
    PF/SF P.Williams - Lots of 2-way growth potential at 6'8" 225
    SF A.Nesmith - 6'6" sniper
    SG/SF D.Vassell - 2-way SG with a motor
C/PF P.Achiuwa - Athletic big with great activity level and some untapped upside

    Okay with:
PG K.Lewis - I like him but more if we blow it up
SF S.Bey - Solid 3/D forward who'd fit but doesn't have a ton of upside, fits better with teams trying to win-now
    PG C.Anthony - He's talented but I see him as a good-stats-bad-team type
PG/SG T.Maxey - He's solid on both ends but again, I'd like him more if we blow it up

    No thanks:
PF A.Pokusevski - Way too raw, even with his skill. Getting Tskitishvili flashbacks
SG/PG R.Hampton - Athletic but raw. I don't love his upside enough to take a shot at him at 16
SF/PF J.McDaniels - Lots of talent but screams chronic underachiever to me (Donte Greene anyone?)

I'd be happy with Nesmith. That dude absolutely shoots the lights out, my goodness. He would perfect next to Harden

Desmond Bane. He's a mix of ready to play and plus starter upside.

I say draft for need. With ariza Tucker and the backcourt, we are still just a big or two from competing. Precious out of Memphis maybe?

An excellent post. I like all your ideas, but I would be okay, instead of being happy with Nesmith even with his great shooting. I would pick A. Pokusevski in order to move up the draft or more likely to trade along with RW for a star( fat chance of that happening, I admit). Let's hope for the best.
