That was my intention, that he is a journeyman that he has ups and downs and did not partake in the playoffs.

I mean the poster wanted to misread and misunderstand me on purpose but I am willing to forget. Non issue.

This is not a good trade. First, all it does is recoup the value they traded for Covington at the trade deadline. Second, Covington makes the Blazers very good, so that pick next season will suck.

Tilman Fertitta can go to hell.

Don't use the 2021 pick from Portland or ours for this. We're not going to get Sekou Doumbouya plus a filler.

In order to avoid violating the Stepien Rule, the trade will not be officially completed until AFTER the Blazers make the 16th pick tomorrow (which they will do on the Rockets' behalf). Once that pick is made, the 2020 pick is no longer a "future pick", so the Stepien Rule would no longer apply.

Blazers will be very good, but if we get two young players with good upside, it might be worth it. The 2021 draft is quite deep.

Tilman with the long con of agreeing to a trade, asking the Blazers to draft someone projected to be undrafted @ 16, and then backing out of the trade.

You'd screw over POR with Ariza and that terrible player, and keep Covington.

Hopefully this is the beginning of a youth movement.

Simmons, Beal and Wood could reset our timeframe by 5+ years. By the time they hit their prime, Lebron will be gone and GSW will be fading.

I wonder if a Harden/Westbrook for Simmons/Beal trade could be coordinated.

It would need to be a 4 team deal:

    Harden to Philly
    Westbrook to a 4th team
    Tons of picks to Washington
    Simmons and Beal to Houston

    then sign Christian Wood

    Beal
    Gordon / McLemore
    House / Nwaba
    Simmons / Tucker
    Wood

plenty of shooting and secondary playmaking around Simmons.

It's not a good trade. It was an easy one.

The Rockets traded Clint Capela and their first-round pick this year (#22) for a 35-year-old Ariza, pick #16 and a pick between 20-30 next year. Nobody here would have been happy with such a deal for Clint.

Sorry everyone, I'm out of the loop. Have we heard details about the protections for the 2021 pick?
