Feel good story of the day. Veteran's Day 2020

Beginning on Veterans Day, November 11, 2020, Gold Star Families and U.S. military veterans receive free access to more than 2,000 federal recreation areas, including national parks, wildlife refuges and forests. The free access program is a way to thank America’s veterans and Gold Star families for their support of our country and to encourage them to explore recreational opportunities on their public lands and waters.

I'm not sure about Gold Star families, that's great if new, and as it should be, but weren't there already passes available for veterans? Pretty sure the answer is yes and that this story is incomplete.

Correction: I should have read closer. Passes are currently free for active-duty service members.

Good move, don't know if it's new, but good. Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept has given Vets free perks for years now, just in case anyone wanted to know.
