Marco Rubio: Republicans need to rebrand and stand with the little guys

Very self-serving argument.

 

Lil Marco is going to join @thumbs in planning a takeover of the Democratic Party. He really just wants to take corporate money and serve their interests while pretending he is for working people like a corporate Democrat. That position is already filled.

 

If republicans are going to give us universal healthcare I would vote for them.

 

I will be curious to see what the party does without Trump. Do they get someone who is equally crazy or do they shift toward a moderate? Regardless, I don't see any way that Republicans can generate that much enthusiasm without Trump.

 

They need to get off the tax cuts bandwagon. For all the talk of getting back to normal, the worst of the Trump legacy will be the corporate tax cuts

 

If Marco really believes that, then he might as well become a Democratic.

Working Class is such a BS nebulous term. It's just a way to lump poor and middle class in one group but differentiate rural american jobs from work in cities.

It's about buying rural votes. They can be fiscally liberal but only for rural America and remain conservative in every other way. This will steal away some rural Democrats because they're naturally more socially conservative but they have to completely sell out as Republicans to do it.

They want Universal Healthcare, That would help the little guy

They should

Push for green energy and strong environmental regulations (the little guy loves his kids having clean air and water)

Stop cutting taxes for the rich while cutting education, food assistance and other social programs. (The little guy hates that!)

Ensure universal comprehensive healthcare, paid parental leave, sick leave, and vacation, as well as a living wage (the little guy loves having a decent quality of life)

most importantly, reform the regulations on the financial end our of our political system so politicians would start representing the American people instead of small groups of wealthy people / corporations.

If they did all that what do you have? A movement that supports the little guy! And Bernie’s presidential campaign.

 

At the end of that article, Marco tries to say that there are those in his party that call any idea of helping workers a “socialist” idea...like he doesn’t do that constantly.

Marco’s a smart guy...sound like he wants to be a Dem now, maybe he can just switch parties to the party that isn’t hive-minded and allows you to think for yourself.

But, my guess is that he wants to continue on with the party that elected someone that completely embarrassed him in the debates, made fun of him, and then seems to have forced him to support that same person. Too bad, would have been nice to have someone with guts.
