What would you put blame on him for?

Like if they are making these decisions without INVOLVING these guys, then what the hell? Morey talks to these guys, he lets them know what he's gonna do. It was Harden, Tucker and Westbrook who pushed for Jeff Green.

Daryl Morey is conducting this whole thing.

He got to where he wanted without having his new team give up assets by saying he wants to spend time with family. Then lol jk signing with Philly for 5 years.

Now he’s using his media connections to put pressure on the situation. Seeing if someone slips up by saying the wrong thing.

My guess is Harden already let Morey know he would join him if the opportunity presented itself. Now Morey is trying to create the opportunity.

Lebron, Durant, Steph, Kawhi, etc. all have a say in how their respective teams are run.

And that is a good thing if the stars on the team are bought in, its simply business 101.

To believe otherwise is completely unrealistic.

I started this as a joke but now I am gonna start re-posting this in all the threads.

Let's start building the new team around Beal/Barrett and get out of these bad contracts then. Let Morey deal with Washington for James a year from now once we have their 2020 and 2021 first round picks!

Rockets In: Betrans (WA), Beal (WA), Payton II (WA), Barrett (NY), Portis (NY), EPayton (NY), both 2020 and 2021 NY and WA first round picks
    Wizards In: Harden, House
    Knicks In: Russ, Gordon

Perk and Morey are not buds.

    Perk is close to Russ.

They absolutely should have a seat at the table and be part of the group that makes the final decision. However, that doesn’t mean they should have the final say on who coaches them.

If Tilman and Stone didn’t involve neither Harden or Westbrook in the search for a head coach, they both have every right to be upset, and it’s another idiotic decision by one of the worst owners in professional sports.

If Harden and Westbrook had a seat at the table during the coaching search and are just frustrated their top choice wasn’t selected, they need to get over it, or the Rockets need to trade them and move on.

    Not true.

    Only partially true.

    Not true.

It was not simply that trade. Tillman forced that through. Nook has said many times James would have been okay with it not happening.

Mad that he was not included in the process after our GM and Coach were gone. Those were the guys he trusted. Lots of superstars want to be involved.

    What are you talking about?

That....last one might be true. He should try to work with the new coach. Other than that, all of this is nonsense.

By all accounts, he was a a large factor in facilitating the Westbrook trade. He also didn't want to make it work with Chris Paul, who he very nearly won a title with. That's well documented.

Yup. He heard this from Westbrook and the Rockets will try to minimize it.

I have no problem with Harden being involved in the process. But by being apart the process, you are judged. by the results, as well. He wanted Westbrook, and he got him, and it failed miserably. He deserves blame for that. That's not really arguable.

And once again...Harden's blame pales in comparison to Tilman's.

    21' pick swap is:

Oklahoma City will receive the two most favorable of its 2021 1st round pick, Miami's 2021 1st round pick and Houston's 2021 1st round pick protected for selections 1-4 and Houston will receive the least favorable of the three (via Miami to Phoenix to Philadelphia to L.A. Clippers to Oklahoma City; via Oklahoma City's right to swap Oklahoma City or Miami for Houston) (if the Houston pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyable, then Houston's obligation to Oklahoma City will be extinguished)

    25' pick swap is 1-10

You are misrepresenting the story now, Harden brought up possibility of bringing in Russ to partner with both CP3 and himself.

That was the plan with Jimmy Butler.

Morey told Harden that it was likely a no deal which Harden accepted.

Tilly stepped in and pushed the deal through and he crowed about it and took full credit for it many many times.

Tilly wanted out of CP3's contract come hell or high water, that is a fact.

Tilman ran off Ariza, Chris Paul, Mike D'Antoni and Daryl Morey. Facts.

    Huh?

Harden was fine with Paul. He wanted to add Butler to Paul. He didn’t want to trade Paul.

Tilman was trying to move Paul. After Butler fell through and George was dealt, Westbrook was available.

Harden told Morey he would like to add Westbrook to Paul and Morey said it wasn’t possible under the cap.

Harden said he would still like to add Westbrook. Morey told Harden it wasn’t likely. Harden was FINE with that.

At the last minute Tilman, against the wishes of his GM and coach said HE wanted the deal done.

The deal was done because of Tilman.

It had very little to do with Harden.

    Harden and Paul were fine.

Trade Eric for cap space. A couple of second rounders would be okay. Try to acquire Wood and Noel.
Pick up Ben's team option. If Harden is still upset, then we can send him for the best return possible. Two medium contracts preferably on shorter duration for Russ would be all right. Send Tucker for a pick. Retain Ro-Co for now.

fans from other teams now love Harden because there’s a chance he could finally leave Houston and make their team a contender...shocker, I know...

once Harden leaves, his Q rating will go up, and the Rockets can go back to being the irrelevant franchise they were before he came over

Can I interest anyone in becoming the Charlotte Hornets of the WC?

I don’t take brabra’s tweets seriously either. I’m referring to the articles from ESPN and other reputable sources that named John Lucas as one of the final three candidates primarily due to his relationship with the players.

Also, it’s definitely a players era, and teams have to walk the fine line between involving their star players in important decisions but still making the best decision for the organization as a whole. It’s a difficult balancing act with so many players being willing to sign short-term contracts and team up to win a championship.
