    Question: Trump Leaving the U.S.?
My question is. . . .can he?
Could a former U.S. President permanently leave the U.S. to live abroad?

I mean . . .wouldn't he know too much vital information.
    Have too many state secrets . . . . ..

Would he be prevented from living abroad/living abroad.
    Even Secret Service 24/7 . . . . would that be allowed?

I just had a random youtube video pop up about what former Presidents have to do and you can turn down secret service so i assume he could leave.

First, as a lawyer I can tell you that Trump is not going to move outside the USA. Trump is NOT going to face any federal charges because of the repercussions. If a federal prosecutor decides to charge Trump, they sure as hell better have a 100% chance of conviction because if Trump walks, it only makes the political divide worse and emboldens all of his followers.
To a lesser degree that is true at the state level as well. The SDNY prosecutor is going to receive heavy federal pressure to not prosecute. Also the active administration will not want to push the idea of imprisoning President’s.

As to your question, If a country will take Trump, then he can leave. Bill Clinton has ditched his secret service handlers in the past without repercussions.

Other than Russia, I cannot imagine a nation taking Trump because the pressure from the USA government to not take him would be extreme. Also if something happened to Trump, the hosting nation would not want to deal with the diplomatic fall out.

The outcome the Democrats and Republicans would privately hope for is Trump quietly retires and stays out of politics, but that won’t happen. He will soon be a bigger problem for the GOP than the Democrats because he is going to want to remain the head of the party and dictate policy.

He may not leave the U.S., but this is a worry as other countries can certainly send people to him (or just call him). Again, if Trump was a regular employee, there’s no way he would have been allowed to even sniff a security clearance...too many red flags.

Can a State of NY judge hold a passport over a tax evasion or civil sexual assault charge?

Nook, do you think The Feds would file on a family member that is not the Former President?

All of that is certainly a possibility but Trump sticking around being a headache might prompt prosecutors to go after him.

I think there are several countries who would be willing to take him and other than what secrets he might spill a Biden Administration will probably not go after him if he just goes to another country and stays out of US politics. In addition to Russia, I'm sure countries like the UAE would take him.

Also Trump as a private citizen I'm not sure how they would stop him from leaving. If the argument is that a prosecutor won't charge Trump because of political repercussions taking Trump's passport or demanding that a country extradite him would require a prosecutor to charge him.
