If the ACA gets struck down what would we do next? I can’t imagine replacing it with anything meaningful. The only option left would be a single payer system, but I’m not sure the votes would ever be there for that.

They should let them toss ACA and let the dems hang it on the GOP neck.

Seems many need to be reminded of how the system used to be before ACA.

Dems focus should be on how toconsolidate power and keep the GOP from being obstructionists.

Let the GOP cult stew in their tax increase and lack of healthcare.

I hope they over turn it. When millions of people lose coverage let's see what happens to senate elections.

I agree with except the idiots who voted Trump and then lost their coverage due to the Supreme Court will now probably blame Biden. “See!? He was illegally elected and then took away my healthcare!!!”

I listened to a good portion of it because i have alot of patients on obamcare and there not overturning it. A lot of people here completely underestimate Neil Gorsuch and he seems to be a very intelligent person. He understands the social aspect of the Supreme court and knows that it's the people's trust that gives the court its power. I was listening to some of his interviews from the early 2000s and the guy seems very well put together. I can totally see Neil Gorsuch being the swing vote on a lot of cases because he and Kennedy understand the reputation of the court. When it comes to business dealings there's no doubt there both complete hacks but when it comes to issues that affect the greater cause they get it.

Obamacare isn't getting overturned. MSNBC is no better than FoxNews with their scare tactics at times.

I also read a few SCOTUS articles and listen to law podcasts and agree with you. There's an argument against severability, but it doesn't get much traction.

The only remaining debate seems to between striking down the mandate vs leaving it intact as it's not even punitive at the moment and can be seen more as a moral mandate.

Of course, it's just a semi informed guess. I'd be shocked if the ACA was struck down in its entirety.

Were it not for the people chronically ill who have pre-existing conditions that will die from this, I would agree with you.

You should do some research on the Hughes court and how the Judicial Procedures reform bill of 1937 changed the court's directions. The Hughes court is exactly where I see the current supreme court setup and it's very intriguing that even a century later we are at the exact same setup. You had 3 liberals and 6 conservatives back then and currently its the same. If you do research from that time period it's intriguing how they kept striking down numerous New deal programs for no reason simply because of their political affiliation. It wasn't until Congress threatened to "pack the court" where they got their **** together. Its funny how a century later nothing has changed one bit.

Unfourtnely I feel like Biden is going to have to be stuck in the same camp.
