With the way elections end up not being the way it's expected from polling, I'm sure both parties want to reserve that as an option. You'd think this year would've been a blowout, and I'm loathe to think the next Dem candidate with Hillary-like results (decided in less than 80k votes) will challenge it too. Trump has a hill to climb and debt to pay. I don't like it, but him ******** through our norms is also a referendum on whether we want to keep them by fixing it (mandatory tax forms, debt checks, etc...) or just leave it broken as is.
I'm ok with it. I know its a farce, but if it makes them feel better let them do it. I would rather they get to see it get shutdown in court, than say that it was some kind of deep state cover up. I know that some will still say that, but at least they will have even less of a leg to stand on.
...so what you're saying is... ...the Donald's presidency DIDN'T fail. ...the Donald really DID "drain the swamp" and he really did "Make America Great Again"... ...now all he has to do is get out of the White House and leave the country, and he'll have fulfilled his two biggest campaign promises... ...and like everything else... ...the Donald can just write off the whole wall thing on those taxes nobody's going to see. ...It's not like the people who gave him any money for that are going to miss the bread anyway...
Well it also depends on whether the people in the tanks are MAGA nut jobs. Hint: a lot of them are. Though the leadership(officers) in the military is far more rational and moderate.
Actually Republicans are talking pretty openly about invoking the 12th amendment by having enough states refuse to certify their electoral votes in order to throw the nomination to the House. There's no way you have possibly missed this plot point. So do you support the electors for PA, MI, and WI refusing to certify, and House Republicans nominating Trump as president against the will of the American people? Because THIS IS EXACTLY what Republicans are exactly advocating for right now. This is overturning Democracy. Pretty clear as day. Everyone knows that in the court cases presented so far, there are not the hundreds of thousands of votes presented as evidence that are needed to overturn the results. Nobody here is stupid enough to believe this is about anything more than showing enough to stop the electors from certifying. ........ This is just MY OPINION here, but give me a few burning trash cans, or a smashed Amazon office window vs losing our Democracy... BUT THATS JUST ME. If you want to support that then that's your prerogative I guess.
No, once you accommodate a child's ridiculous fantasy they will only push harder for more accommodation. The courts look into it, they rule and then trump's people will then want a higher court... then the supreme court. And after that, they will whine incessantly anyway. And then next election, it happens again... and all elections after that.
...yeah... ...at least Rudy G and the cosplay kids did everybody the courtesy of having their little press conference on a public street corner in a vacant lot next door to a sex shop, instead of blocking traffic or some such. ...and why do the words "vacant" and "sex" have so much in common with the Donald's presidency, I wonder... ...even now, at the inglorious end of it all...
What Trump is doing is bad for civility and causes social unrest. However I wonder if Trump acting like a baby will have any effect in the run off races in Georgia? The more unhinged he acts, isnt that better for the Democrats in the runoffs?
But aren't we already at that point already? I just don't see the genie going back in the bottle at this point.
