Yep that's what's already called. This era around the World though might be better called "Putinism". In not just the US but in several countries we see the rise of Rightwing strong men with authoritarian tendencies. We know that there was influence, if not outright interference, in elections in several countries by Putin That not just elections on leadership but also with BREXIT where populism stoked by misleading rhetoric played a role. Russia and Putin should be third rate power yet remains very relevant while his traditional rivals are riven with dissension.

trumpism, which will be defined as the 21st century version of authoritarian-nationalism wrapped up in a bizarre personality cult. the only thing that prevented him from getting a second term was his toxic personality. it wasnt about his policies. he could have done everything the exact same, but not been a divisive a**hole about it and he would have won. that scares me, because its going to be really easy for someone just as bad, but who knows how to control their emotions to come along and pick up where he left off.
