A very good point. We knew how trump would respond to losing. What is really being tested is how republicans will respond. And so far, with a few exceptions, the republican party is failing that test, and in doing so, failing America. Hopefully Americans will remember that, both in 2022 and beyond.

A good chunk of the nation almost re-elected Trump.

Those politicians won’t make a move until the people forget or turn their attention to something else...like the dried up covid relief or the aftermath of the upcoming flu season.

They just holding on until duck l’orange gets carved up and shat out

as a guy in texas born and bred this is a remarkably accurate and encapsulating post..well put...

i will add that in usa voting is still not a deal
.huge apathy... lots of people including myself voted this time but often dont.

i dont know how good other countries are about making it easy or not and in general here its a chore to vote.

its up there with doing your taxes or registering your car and in many ways even that is easier.

so you have to "register" no one really asks you to do so and there is a deadline in most cases before vote date. so 2 dates to meet not one... if you are already in apathy mode then you need to first "go" register.
not hard but you still have to do it.

that on its own is enough to weed some out.

next you have to have all your papers in order. again not hard but that weeds people out.

you buy something with mail in rebate. many wont mail it in and they are getting money back.its lazy..its one step too many..

normally you are working tuesday and polls close at 7 but often due to turnout results are already posted by afternoon. so your guy is already done or not anyway.

then since all local elections have low turnout even if you like a local candidate or cause unless that person is the one being locally supported you arent getting that person in or anywhere..

so you have to register in advance, have all your papers, put in constant watch on the concern, follow 2 dates, cant be moving ..gone... out of state unless adhere all kinds of other steps for absentee or mail in etc.

then if can get there between 5-7pm can only vote at certain spots ( this happened to me in primary and i wasnt on the roll at the location i went to in same county..turned away)

all to vote in texas where we are told a vote for biden "doesnt matter"

lots of people in usa dont follow politics.culturally taught to not mix in politics..facebook has changed to an extent that but thats really only come on hard in last 10-12 years (ahem @jiggyfly )

the culture in usa is one of not talk politics..maybe its because im from usa but i find when in foreign countries they all want to talk politics and its more present..

right or wrong with all the consumerism and other concerns we simply normally dont get in to politics ..too distracted...my wife is this way..view it as disillusioned..

im generally too distracted ..maybe its because im getting older that im more into it now but once this dude is out and gone finally im excited to go back to my normal life not concerned..

so down line if its 2 pretty normal candidates I may not vote or need to. i know that sounds weird too but trump was THAT bad..he was an exception and required us all to step in and vote.
unless they allow less process and make easier to vote you wont see votes like that in volume for next winner next time..no way..trump was an exception.

this was a call to action

    MURICA !!

It is neither. It is not about the meaning of the word Socialist.

The Rs have declared that Socialism is end-of-the-world bad ... and all Ds are Socialists ... even moderate Ds like Biden who are Secret Socialists.

There is no arguing that is some soft “thinking”. What this really is is tribalism. The R Tribe hates the L Tribe because of some reason or another. Let’s just name the reason as Socialism without bothering or caring to explain in detail why.

We might as well as say that the good Tribe wears red hats with MAGA stamped on them (the best ones come from China) and the other Tribe does not and is thus evil. This is all you need to know.

That and he messed up the pandemic response epically.

Covid 19 and trumps general ****ery sent droves of dormant black voters and normie suburbanites to the polls to vote for a guy who understands germ theory.

Even with all of that, Biden's win is going to be slim.

The biggest winner of this election cycle are mainstream Republicans.

They got rid of Trump, ostensibly kept the senate, and made gains in the house.

Those people are happy as hell today.

One lesson: if you want Americans to vote, make it easier not harder. Mail-in ballots won this election because we didn't have to leave the house and stand in line. Why do they think Amazon is taking over the world?

Opposing that backfired on Trumper's. Could they not see that their constituency is old and getting older? They will have to be wheeled in by 2024.

In the article, they said one case was submitted in Montana without any evidence at all. Just flailing at this point.

Good points , this should be the bright side of the window for republicans...4 years is not forever, we get to reset. Take a deep breath and learn from what went wrong to ensure we make course corrections about leadership for the whitehouse so when 2024 hits republicans will be standing by ready and prepared ..good points Donny.. for the reasons you mentioned I’m absolutely good . Proud to be an American

HR1 doesn’t deal with mail-in ballots, but does implement national voter registration among other things. Dems need to get that bill passed if they grab the Senate...Mitch won’t even let it come to the floor.

Does anyone else think that Trump could destroy the Republican party? It wouldn't shock me if Trump starts to go after the Republicans who are not backing him up. We have seen some of that already, but I suspect that it will happen on a bigger scale. Hell, Fox News is starting to tell Trump to concede. The Republicans will be put into an awkward position of either defending Trump or believing in democracy.

Republicans are positioned to absolutely crush the majority of Americans for the foreseeable future. The minority party has installed judges across the federal layer cake that will ensure their over representation in government for a generation or more. Plus Democrats are mostly feckless cowards, so between that and the insanely tilted rules all set up in your favor, you're sitting quite pretty. Congrats dude. You won!

I think Mitch is going to be exposed on a daily basis, I think Ms. Harris is going to get a lot of TV time doing that. It could be crushing in the midterms.

The only way this happens is if Magaland forms a third party.

Their general sniping and backbiting won't have any effect.

Trump will remain a king maker for Congress until he dies.

    Disgraceful even in this attempt.

She is pretty much reasserting the false narrative that there is election fraud while pandering to her audience.

These are poisonous and treacherous people that are undermining our institution and system.
