Has nothing to do with “moderate” vs “progressive” vs whatever. It’s about the electoral college where those key states IF you have turnout with African American voters and IF you can flip those illusive Obama-Trump independent voters in the rust belt, you can win the electoral college as a Democrat. African American voters though were the key. Has nothing to do with beltway political labels. The bet was he could flip back those voters (looks like he did) and have massive turnout in Philly, Milwaukee, and Detroit. The suburban wife vote too is that third leg of the stool but it’s a third leg that is newer and less predictable for Democrats. Still... Biden was the best bet, and it looks to have paid off. Did it come with down ballot costs???.... I think so but we need better data other than the anecdotal hypothesis about those suburban types in Texas etc that split the ticket just because they wanted to tell themselves they aren’t a true libtard.
I have no doubt that the George Floyd riots helped Trump a lot. I was surprised it didn't cost Dems more in WI/MI TBH.
The question comes down to this do you trust the government to allow you to securely cast your vote online? My answer is no...btw hell of a breakdown and I do agree with most of what you stated.
What's The Rock cooking? •Low Taxes •Healthcare for All •Strong Military •A Gun in Every Pot •No Wet Markets •All Wars in Steel Cage
Maybe Warren could do this. Pete could not win this African American turnout. Amy Khlobachar could not turnout African Americans. Bernie would be the interesting one. I have no idea and it’s anyone’s guess. If you look at it candidate by candidate I just don’t know that I can agree with you. But yes I think Trump mostly hurt himself with Covid but even that topic has a difference of opinion that potentially the data might give us better insight on (like were swing voters favoring herd immunity etc). Every Dem candidate had a chance for sure, but I don’t believe that the EC map looks the same if the candidate isn’t Biden. Mayor Pete being the clearest example.... and don’t forget he won Iowa and could have easily stuck it out and had a good shot at the nomination.
