I don't think Trump voters are that secret. Most are pretty in your face. The one surprising thing is that despite record D turnout, Trump managed to get a huge turnout pop of his own. He unlocked MAGA nonvoters from 2016, which nobody thought he could do. Now people will quickly with incomplete data point and say "cubans in miami, some Latinos in rgv, etc" but even if all true there's still millions of brand new trumpets who are pretty much all white. My hypothesis is that as the GOp becomes an identitarian death cult, even previously apolitical people in Trump country will get on board just to belong to something. Plus all the QAnon **** can be very seductive (and is designed to be, it's a rabbit hole on purpose) more so than most appreciate because it's so looney
I'm seeing a bunch of conservatives on twitter also getting mad at republicans. Trump could be screwing the GOP out of the senate at this point. We likely have 2 runoffs against a very fired up GA Democrat base. Now, imagine leading up to the runoffs the questions these people will have to answer as Trump throws his fit.
Don't worry bro. The silent majority (that somehow hasn't won the popular vote but once in over 30 years) is totally real!
Given how nasty politics has been, it's understandable for there to be secret voters. Especially when randos like you call them pathetic. Getting everyone to vote while making them all feel empowered is like a nude beach. Everyone's junk hangs out. If that sounds elitist...bwuuhhh dats wut the Founding Fathers wud think. Dems will have to recalibrate and actually stand for something. They can't just complain about "fixing" Trump's damage. Fixing sounds reasonable, but these days being reasonable is a one term ticket to hell.
Even if Trump loses here's a sobering thought. Biden will end up getting the most votes in US history of around 73 million. The second most will be Donald Trump with around 69 million. Biden could get end up with more than 300 electoral votes but this election will not be a repudiation of Trump and Trumpism. It shows that it is stronger than it was even four years ago.
It's a rejection of Trump, but only in the most mild form imaginable. It's not positive affirmation of democrats. It's simply people saying we don't want a crazy ****ing dipshit running things during a pandemic anymore.
