I wasn’t convinced that Nate should be hired for Houston, but it seems that TF won’t spend money for good assistants.

Why would anyone leave a stable position and come to Houston under TF? SS wanted his first HC job. I doubt he would have agreed to join the Rockets if he had previous HC experience.

glad he's off the board. too bad we missed on cheeks. maybe he just likes working for donavan, or maybe we prioritized Lucas' contract and missed out.

maybe a bzdelik return is possible since morey and MDA are gone?

We could only be so lucky. Because we know bringing Bzdelik back is too advanced for our FO to comprehend.

Bzdelik also qualifies to FO preference to surround Silas with former HC.

Again, I am advocating offering Shane the same position that 76ers offered Morey:

    President of Basketball Operations

That position oversees the GM, hence it would be a promotion and much more money.

I'm happy with this 100%. I never wanted him as HC because I thought it would be better suited to a new voice. Harden and Russ clearly love Lucas and I'm happy they will have a familiar voice in the second chair.

I hope Diop knows more than just how to coach bigs, otherwise there would be nothing for him to do. :D

Will Hardy would be a good hire.

*Edit: Who the crap is Will WEAVER??? An Aussie coach who specializes in offense?

How many offensive coaches do the Rockets need????

At least hold on to Elston Turner if no defensive coaches are being looked at.

A 7-foot coach? He's going to be our center, too. A two-fer for Till Man.

Oops, I meant few more Landry's coupons.

Maybe still too rich for Tilly?

I'd be down with that at this point. **** it. Why not? Maxwell can hit some fools with dumbbells if they act up.

This. But also, Lucas is far more familiar with the players themselves. Silas will benefit from someone at his side that can fill him in. Help him know each players nuances and tendencies. How to best approach each. And so on. Once Lucas was eliminated from HC consideration, him as an assistant made incredible sense. Now it gets more interesting. Who will be the other assistants? What will they bring?
