Do people not realize Harden is locked up for 2 more years and there’s a 3rd year that’s a player option at nearly $48 million??? sure maybe he declines that... though it’s increasingly possible the cap WONT BE UP by that time. More likely he’ll want to have an extension negotiated before then. all of which is to say... he might force his way to Philly but more likely will not have that much leverage. AD had only one year left on his deal., EVERYONE knew he was going to sign with LAP, and the NOP still had enough leverage to get a solid package back.
Morey isn’t everything guys. All he did was trade all our first round picks, draft undersize PG/PF every year, get us excited about trades that never happen, make us shoot 1,000 per game and go small. Thank you for getting us Harden though.
When I talk to people who aren’t Rockets fan, they always told me Morey was holding us back. They point out our ridiculous predictable system. My friend is now scared of James Harden, because he will actually take mid range jumpers next year.

Can someone tell me why Morey is so big on Philly calling it “can’t miss opportunity”? This team hasn’t shown much promise with its current roster including the two stars, which has underperformed in the playoffs two years in a row. Baffled.
No, departure of Morey is addition by subtraction. His philosophy, stubbornness , number crunching and lack of viewing players other than as assets, has hurt the Rockets franchise tremendously. They may have 2-3 tough years coming up, but their chances to compete for a ring improve significantly with Morey gone with his one trick pony basketball strategies. By the way Harden is an extension of Morey's ineptitude. Get rid of him as well if you want things to turn around in a positive direction.

Until they move Simmons or add a third superstar they can’t win. Simmons isn’t that guy but makes that guy money. I suppose he likes to take on difficult projects. But that roster isn’t a championship contending roster and has personnel issues.
