Boy do I stutter when I get on air. The 3-4 times I've called into sportsradio I get caught up in what I'm gonna say. I think I do that on a regular basis when talking normally too though. Anyway, I called in and asked Marc and Chance about what they thought about the Rockets and gave them my predictions. (Rockets in 6, Steal game 1 in LA) Forgot to tell Chance I was from CF.net...oh well. How many Miguel's ever call into the show?
Weird...I just called in to the radio station over here this morning to thank them for finally playing good music. I stuttered too at first, but caught myself and pulled it off relatively smoothly.
I've called in twice to SR610. Once to talk to Aaron Glenn (complain about Coleman), and the other time to speak with Casserly (to complain about Stevens). I've been thinking about calling in to J&L early one morning just to let them know that I'm also up that early in the morning. If you don't know, they have a running joke about the type of people awake that early in the morning when their show is on.
Miguel, I TOTALLY agree with you about The Rox in 6. It's more like a gut feeling thing than an educated guess at what will happen. If I was to argue my side from an educated point of view I would say that the Lakers are going to have problems with post-season chemistry, Kobe wants to play somewhere else, Shaq needs to have some bad games, Malone needs to stay hurt, and The toyota Center needs to ROCK. That outghtta do it. Chance
Call in! Let them know. It's odd how many cars are on the road at 5:30, 6 o'clock. Also, give cc.net some props when ya'll call in. "I read about you guys on clutchfans dot net all the time." "I was reading on clutchfans dot net about blah blah blah and I wanted to comment on..." Chance
I called in to Matt Jackson's post-game show once to complain about what I referred to as the Rockets' "Maturity Deficit". It was amusing. I was "Jorge in Midtown", although I have since moved.
If I had a cell phone, I would call from the EFX machine I'm on at 5:30am everyday... just to let them know that people actually are up and about listening to their early morning takes. In that case, I HAVE to be confined to the machine... so calling in wouldn't be a problem... But, alas... i hate cell phones. Damn, I got issues!
Yeah, Chance. I don't know WHAT it is. but I just have this gut feeling telling me Rockets in 6. Then I heard you say it on the radio and I was like, man I HAVE to call in now. We'll see in about 3 months (or whenever the first round is over) Haha, I need to start calling in more often. My calls have consisted of Rich/Charlie: Rockets wearing their retro unis after they destroyed Orlando last year. Rich/Charlie: If the Texans were interested in John Lynch. Marc: Rockets in 6. Next time I call in I'll make sure to plug CF.net
I called in last season after the Pistons/Rockets game on the Matt Jackson show. Was a simple "Who would like to play in the playoffs" question and I guess I jinxed them. Anyways, to any of those who listen to Matt Jackson, did yall listen after the Mavs game? Omg, there are some IDIOTS that call in. One complained that since we lost to the Mavs, note by only 3, that we are going to get swept in the playoffs with no mention of Cat and Steve being out of it. Another caller called in claiming to be a Maryland alum, and complained why the hell Francis didnt play. The stuff I hear on that show, makes me and Matt Jackson scratch our heads and wonder if these people have common sense.
Yeah, my radio is constantly on 610 and when the night shift is on, good GOD there are some really horrible callers. I guess most of the idiots are too tired to be idiots early in the morning for John/Lance, don't want to tarnish the Voice of the Houston Texans' show, can't get by JStew or Showkiller, wait for the Locals to come back, but are usually cut short by some event that shortens Rich and Charlie's show. So obviously, the only thing left is the nightshift. Poor Matt, he needs a new call screener.
I've called in a couple of times and got blasted for using ClutchCity.Net when I called. It was something along the lines of: Fox: "The stuff you are talking about now isn't new, we have been discussing that for a couple of days on ClutchCity.net. and... " Charlie and/or Rich: "Hey you can't even say 'Clutch City' without asking pretty please to David Stern first!"
