Your best bet is either black Friday or if you can hold out a bit longer, the new models typically come out in March-May, leading to significant price drops in models from the previous year.

There will be more hdmi 2.1 tvs out next year.
But at the same time, black friday will have some great deals.

tvs are so cheap now you can just move them to spare bedroom or use them as a large monitor .

    not optimized yet
    @RC Cola
    uncapped frame rate?

FYI - watch it before it goes down

*Update - I've been instructed by my PR to keep the optimized videos private for now. Waiting for new embargo for those videos. There was some confusion. Sorry about that!* Before people go nuts. Yes the game is being played on Series X and no it's not the optimized version, just the Xbox One version. The optimized version doesn't have a release this year. I will cover it when it does release. Just wanted to check how the game performs on this beast. I always tend to get carried away with this game. Instead of just recording 50 mins, I recorded 2 hours lol. I also stayed up and played till Novidgrad..... This game always sucks me into the world haha. But yea as usual the youtube compressions destroys the quality of the video. It looks better on a nice monitor and in my footage. Sadly until YouTube upgrades or till I get my 4K capture card this will do.

Based on research, peer recommendation and viewing OLEDs of friends, I choose to buy one.
Got a great deal on Amazon.
i had a 4k lcd in my other room setup with the xbox x. the difference was significant when i moved it to the oled.

the best demo is having someone show you the 4k bluray with hdr of this will smith movie

don't view it on safari or apple youtube app on apple tv. they don't have 4k/hdr for youtube because of a format dispute with google.

it's fine with chrome or non apple products

The previous LG model, the 9-series, never hit the Black Friday marketplace. Manufacturers will often create lesser models for the sole purpose of marking down for BF.

If you want a deal on a tier 1 panel 65in and up, you'll want to look into greentoe.com. But even then, don't count on getting a deal.

Oooof, sizing down to 55 is rough. What 65in do you have? You might want to stick with that. Maybe look into a C9, E9 or B9 in the 65in -- but it wont be easy to find inventory.

I think every person in history that downgraded from 65 to 55 deeply regretted it, it's one of the worst stories you can find when asking people or checking forums.
You'll notice the missing screen size every second of watching and want to go back to the larger model.

OLED is fine if you don't care about the burn-in risk, but there's still pros and cons for either OLED or QLED based on your game and TV preferences (brighter and more colored vs darker content for example).

So you should read the rtings reviews and check out hdtvtest to have a better understanding, as the overall score of a TV won't tell you anything about it's strengths or weaknesses in comparison to other models.

no doubt. again i'm in no rush the C8 has been great for my needs...but once a 2.1 HDMI tv becomes a little more appealing i'd like to make the jump. appreciate the feedback all

    I know what a c8 is , apparently some people don't.

you know that it does do 1080p 120hz, so that should be alright if you want to do 120hz on next gen til you get hdmi 2.1

Good to see a studio adapting all of the PS5 tech. Like with AC: Valhalla, it won't be complete 4k.

    https://wccftech.com/resident-evil-village-to-run-at-dynamic-4k-with-ray-tracing-on-ps5/

    • Stunning visuals: Explore Resident Evil Village's beautiful yet terrifying vistas and locales in 4K* with Ray Tracing.
    • Fast loading: Instantly pick up right where you left off with almost no load times, thanks to the power of the PS5 console's ultra-high speed SSD.
    • Adaptive triggers: Feel the weight and pull of weapon triggers for an even more immersive experience.
    • Haptic feedback: Simulate the feeling of firing a real gun with haptic feedback.
    • Tempest 3D AudioTech on compatible headphones: Surround yourself with the carefully crafted music and sounds of survival horror in Resident Evil Village. 3D Audio enhances the experience by making you feel the hair-raising sounds coming from every direction.
*Dynamic 4K and HDR require a compatible 4K & HDR compatible TV or display.

Warning. Warning. Jargon alert. This is like saying flying on a plane is fine if you don't care about it crashing.

Doubt I'll go over 60 FPS often. The games won't let you pick a specific resolution, but they'll probably offer a cinematic mode that tries to keep 4K (or some high resolution) or another mode that tries to keep a good framerate (most likely 60 FPS, but occasionally 120 FPS or 30 FPS). If the performance modes keep a high resolution and don't look too different from the cinematic mode, I'll probably go with them. Only reason I might go with 30 FPS is if ray tracing is only enabled at that framerate, and it looks way better than without ray tracing.

    Yep, that's The Witcher 3.

I don't know how it ran on Xbox One X, but I guess it looks fine. I didn't sit through the whole video, but I saw online there was a snippet of fast travel that seemed pretty...well fast. That's the thing I'd be most excited about I think.

The loading times for actual next-gen games seem pretty impressive. That's probably more exciting than 4K and whatnot. Only problem is that we still need to sit through all those logos and legalese when booting up a game, even if the games are ready to go. :(
