My girls doing it! https://www.wavy.com/news/strange/t...inappropriate-skeleton-display-in-front-yard/ *Fun Fact. She will obviously take it down in 30 days, per HOA rules.
Our school community did a trick or treat scavenger hunt yesterday. We had a map with houses participating and the candy was on tables outside the homes. I think that's what we may look for tonight. Drive around and see what houses might be doing contactless trick or treating. Then come home and use some of the candy we bought to do a scavenger hunt with the boys.
Sounds like what we have decided to do. I will set up a table outside at the end of our driveway and spread our candy out on it. I'll have a thing of hand sanitizer too just in case. We'll just walk around and try to find houses who have done something similar. If that fails, we designed a candy scavenger hunt throughout the house, so hopefully that will salvage things.
Just walked through our neighborhood. Damn I know it’s COVID but it’s depressing how few people decorate or leave a bowl on the porch. For all the complaining people do about kids want to do nothing but stay inside on their phones I wish more people would keep traditions like trick or treating alive.
We went out about 6, saw lots of tables and bags of pre sorted candy. Completely forgot about even knocking on doors. Saw some kids going up to a door and someone handing out candy and had an “oh yeah that’s how this normally works” moment.
We were at a neighbor's where the candy was spread out on tables at the end of the driveway. Tons of kids came by. Unfortunately, there was a huge party at the house next door and this happened: https://www.tampabay.com/news/break...-involving-seven-teens-pinellas-sheriff-says/
It's a give-and-take, to be honest. You can have lots of decorations and pre-sorted candy for the kids, but some jerks will just take it all since it's unsupervised.
We walked just around our block once. Normally we have a lot of kids out, but this year was pretty slow. I had my oldest hold a fishing net lined with a bag, so that if we had to get candy from someone, we'd still be socially distanced. Most people had candy at the end of the drive way on a table, in individual bags. We only walked around one block, and the kids got plenty of candy.
Played a Halloween gig last night. Really fun show except for my friend rooting for the Braves yelling “Braves win 3-2” during the show.. My band did a King of the Hill themed group costume and even though I’m the only one actually from Texas they made the Asian be Kahn.
