Even if they find drive-thru voting illegal, I'm offended they'd ask to void ballots that were cast in good faith. I hope and expect that petition to be denied. But they should not have even asked.

It is disgustingly anti-American to try to prevent people from voting. However, it is sort of amusing to see the desperate GOP clowns have to resort to more and more transparent attempts to suppress the vote. Like their hero Trump they do not want to accept being legally outvoted.

What’s amazing this cycle is how little they even hide it. Dan Patrick the other day came out and said it that their goal is to keep people from voting, and they are just blatantly telling the world they want to throw out votes cast in good faith under previously uncontested rules just to hold onto power.

Texas Republicans are the absolute worse second only to possibly Alabama Republicans or the Trump regime themselves. Autocratic thugs.

The drive through voting still required ID verification. What does it ****ing matter if they were outside rather than inside? If those votes are thrown out I welcome rioting in texas. That’s ****ing disgusting.

They are one step away from saying any non-republican vote must be thrown out because any legit vote must be for republican because they are what's good for the country.

I anticipate they will throw them out. The Supreme Court in Texas is all Republican and most are complete hacks with laughable decisions in some cases in recent history. The only time Texas lawmakers are held in check is when the federal courts over rule which they can’t in this case.

Ive also said for months now that I believe Texas, Florida, and Georgia are the three states I fear will all three refuse to certify for long enough to invoke the amendment that forces a one vote per state vote in the House that’ll give the Republicans the chance to put Trump back in office. Frivolous cases like this one gives Texas electors and Dan Patrick the ability to refuse to certify.

Biden must run the table with Michigan, Wisconsin, and Penn. If Florida, Texas. or GA’s electoral seats are needed for either candidate to get to 270 I fully expect a refusal to certify. Maybe the House can pickup enough seats next week that get certified themselves in time before January to move enough House seats in Red States away to where there is no longer a Republican majority in the House so then Nancy Pelosi can say SURE... let’s have that vote.

First voter suppression, and now disenfranchising completed votes. If this was happening in a third world country run by despotic autocrats you would be horrified... and its happening in Texas. Congrats trump supporters...

So what's the decision? I mean people that voted through this method deserve to know if they need to recast their vote this Tuesday. This is some scumbag move.

    lol at the reasoning.

Democrats provide logical reasoning and point out that this model was approved by the state clerk.

Republicans just go zomg it’s illegal... because it’s illegal!!!!!1

If you tell people the only way to get you out of office is to vote you out they will.

If you make it so they can't do that, they'll remove you another way.

I will keep on saying it this is why it's so important to win elections at every level.

New state legislatures are sworn in on the 1st of January and right now Democrats trail Republicans by one. If Democrats add another two then the states will vote Democratic. If it is tied it goes to the Senate and if the Democrats control then Senate then it also goes Democrats way.

And thus the battle for America's soul begins. As we knew it always would.

    In the courts.

    Exactly.

For all the talk of undoing what the GOP has done none of that matters until Democrats actually control elected offices.

It's really hard to gain state legislator seats in red states due to things like gerrymandering. It's a very tough uphill battle.

You kind of wonder about the battle in between Nov 4 and Jan 31st. That’s where the media really plays a crucial role in informing the public that this isn’t some situation where it’s the Democrats who need to do x,y, and z... typical Chuck Todd nonsense...”but do the Democrats look unreasonable here... My friend Hugh Hewitt what do you think?”

If the media does its job then the public pressure and outrage at literally stealing an election should really play to the favor of Democracy winning. The more spin is allowed, the more the public will be conditioned to just accept it and FoxNews viewers can get their talking points ready.

You look at Poland just yesterday as an example of what might be next in the Trump as an autocrat era. Even in a liberal country, Democracies die and the only thing left is protest demonstrations.... Unless you have levers in place to fight the shift to autocracy when it is happening and a way to inform the public that it is happening.

I have little hope in the media to do their incredibly important job in this period, and that might be my biggest fear.

It certainly is but without winning elections any discussions of change is hypothetical. It's not impossible though as TX is showing there is a very good chance the Democrats take the Legislature. The gerrymandered districts from 10 years ago gave a lot of power to the suburban districts and now many of those are going Blue.
